Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, the presenter's audio cut out at that moment, so nothing was recorded, however, audio is regained at 41:36. At this point, the presenter is made aware that her audio cut out, and she goes back to review what she was speaking about prior to that point. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Good content. Compared to most training videos i've had to watch, this was way more informative and helpful when sharing with non-infosec coworkers. Good job, down to earth, capable knowledgeable explanation (or good research). Definitely something i'd love to work in one day. I love my IT role, but i love yours more LOL. Thanks for the work you did here.

Great insights! Which threat Emotet, cryptojacking, or data exposure-do you find most urgent to address in today’s security landscape?

I have a CISSP with a moderate amount of experience delivering 100% software systems to non-DoD systems. under RMF This subject matter is completely inaccessible to anyone not already a large contractor with dozens of staff members devoted to answering all of these requirements. I was 70% of the way through the presentation before I figured out that the US Government is the intended audience. If DoD hopes to diversify towards smaller businesses, T&E needs more tooling, machine readable file standards, and automation. What I saw here sounds like hundreds of pages of mostly manual testing with occasional tools whose outputs need to be summarized. How does a cyber defender hope to gain competency with all of this complexity? How will acquisition costs ever go down if contractors have so much to comply with? How will operational costs ever stay low if we have to constantly deploy all of these mock copies of production systems just for T&E?

This presentation really touched on a pain point for me - audit review. So many logs are generated on large systems that tens of thousands of dollars have to be invested in hardware alone (more in the cloud) and we still end up with slow systems with too many charts and alarms. Subsequently, so many organizations give up and just don't look at logs until it's too late. More pressure needs to be put on log providers to build parsers for open source and commercial tools that optimize indexing as well as identifying "normal" behavior.

You can't out beat a supercomputer but you can delay and adjust it's configurations to where it has to play on you and not you on it

Yes. It's real. Don't let ppl convince you you insane or crazy or whatever. It's very real. I don't understand why they doing this to people like me but it's perverted and disgusting and heartbreaking and the reasons behind it are probably why there's a hell and why we don't have heaven on earth right now
