How ironic that these pastors seem never to have opened a Bible, let alone a history book. Why would ANY Christian vote republican, when that party despises EVERYTHING Jesus stood for? Let me be clear, I'm not suggesting that you can't be a Christian and vote republican. But, you cannot be an INFORMED Christian, spiritually or otherwise.

These are not pastors but hypocrites. Any pastor voting for trump lack the love of christ I rather not vote for any of them than vote for the republican. How is racism , farcism and talking down on immigrant godly ?? How is project 2025 godly when some race want to elevate their self above others ?? The Paula whites who are serial divorcees and adultreres are not pastors but wolves in sheep clothing. Hypocrites to the core.

Thank you for this conversation! I'm registered as Independent because I don't claim no party 😂😂 I think this time around (and in all elections really) we have to look past the person running and really educate ourselves on the policies and which ones line up with God's word! Loved the comment made that our opinions may not agree with the Word, but our opinions are what needs to be adjusted.

Pastor you're right and I agree on your opinion But also people (Christians) should know how this celebration 🎃 halloween started, the meaning and implications.. the same way we do apologetics, the same way we should know the story and everything about halloween and Not only how to confront or deal with it..
@DrBrentSimpson2 күн бұрын
Sounds like a great future podcast! The origins of Halloween are not known by most people (although people often think they know them) and are very similar to the subject of this podcast. It was a secular Celtic holiday, redeemed by the church (like many of our holidays) as All Hallows Eve (Halloween). Hallows Day (Nov 1st, aka, All Saints Day) was a day of remembering the saints and martyrs who had died. Today, the holiday takes on more of it's original secular (Celtic) roots. And, like the 8th century church attempted to do (and did for a long time), I would argue the day needs to be redeemed again. Thanks for the future podcast idea!

As one commenter puts it - “This smear campaign against Halloween, in which it has been scapegoated among Christians as the ultimate manifestation of secularism and satanism in contemporary culture, only goes back to fairly recent modern times when certain Christian groups resorted to any fanciful tale to counter the emerging counterculture of the 60's and 70's that they perceived as corrupting youth. Christian leaders since then have clutched us in a guilt trip ever since about a holiday which, prior to this extreme reaction, was indeed harmless for the most part like any other holiday and had no connection with satanic rituals. It was a cultural festival which, though mischievous at times, really posed no threat to society until we were forced to believe that it did.” And as an Orthodox priest quipped in a 2010 article about Halloween, “And let’s be honest: modern Halloween for you and me-and even the Wiccans down the street-has nothing to do with virgin sacrifice or black magic. It’s about having fun in a costume and eating things your dentist wouldn’t approve of. No one was ever possessed by the devil because he or she dressed up for Halloween or passed out licorice or read a Harry Potter book. Our modern lives have way too many other avenues for temptation to enter, and these things are the real cause of our spiritual problems." When we celebrate Halloween, we are definitely participating in a tradition with deep historical roots. But those roots are firmly situated in the medieval Christian past, not an ancient pagan one.

That is a great way of explaining this. There is a common and shared false belief that is at the root of so many issues. I think along with the weakness, we are also seeing an outgrowth of when society avoids and despises conflict. Rather than seek healthy conflict, than respect there is a time for war, people turn to hidden conflict which tends towards immorality very quickly. I've always wanted a battle to fight. I am glad God has given me a righteous one, otherwise I would be in a terrible place.
@mikaockerman8323 жыл бұрын
I also think the generations coming up have been taught to reject Christianity. So much so that when they realize something comes from Christian morals and ethics they are inclined to reject it because of its foundation which they have rejected.

I believe God created the earth perfect. However the entrance of sin has caused it to be cursed, look at the blood that has cried out from the ground from the beginning...the blood of Abel from the beginning till now. Its mankind that has done this. God bless

Great minds think alike! Then president John Adams wrote in 1798 "Because we have no government, armed with power, capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." We need that foundation - well said, Pastors Brent and Ken!

I heard of a quote from John Calvin that said "When God wants to judge his people, he sends them wicked leaders" and thought, wow, how relevant.
