As someone who read the books and saw the tv series it was a let down. They changed the lore which I could understand for the tv show but it was rushed. They tried to push the major plot points from all the books into the first season so they could then have freedom to make their own plots…. Complete trash 🗑️. I much prefer the movie! Zoey deutch is a queen!

Hello, have you seen the movie Tarzan The Fearless?

The thing is--Lady Whistledown is right. Colin is trying soooo hard to be...something. Because he doesn't really know who he is, not yet. Colin does IMHO want to be much more than a friend--but he doesn't realize YET he longs for that with Penelope. I think in his brain he put her in the category of "sister" and thus created a gigantic blind spot. Colin longs for a connection beyond the physical, for intimacy on every single level. And he can have that with Penelope--once he stops thinking of her as a sister. Then he'll stop trying feel something more by trying threesomes. Interestingly, there is evidence Anthony thinks of her as his sister as well. As you shall see. The actor who plays Mr. Finch had the most wonderful explanation--he is waiting for Phillipa's consent. But she doesn't know there's anything to consent to...well, she knows NOW of course! Just as NOW Colin Bridgerton has stopped thinking of Penelope as a sister!

1. Yes he could do a better proposal but then it wouldn’t be Colin he Bee lines once he knows his intentions. 2. I was affected very similarly by this scene. I was in hysterics crying. I absolutely loved how real it felt. I too have been single forever lol i kept sobbing and kept telling myself that it wasn’t real it was just fantasy and it’s ok to enjoy the fantasy… I had a 17 year long best friends to lovers situation that ended quite horribly for me. I wanted commitment and he didn’t. So what Penelope gets is something I wanted for a very large portion of my life. ❤

When I saw the carriage scene, even though I was alone, I felt like watching TV with your parents and those scenes come out. 😂 Personally, I loved his proposal.

Oh, Kyla, I just remembered something else about this movie. I thought it was a horrible decision for them to not kiss at the end. There was a kiss in the script, but Sterling Knight said he wouldn't kiss her because the actress who plays Jessica, I think her name is Tammin Sursok, she was like 15 or something. Personally, I think it was a stupid decision for these 2 to go through this whole movie together, we see this develop for over an hour, and they don't even kiss.
