The negative terminal from the source power/slave circuit, does it connect to anything?
@TotalMotorcycle
@TotalMotorcycle Жыл бұрын
I assume you mean the negative terminal off the "switch" circuit from the relay? Any good ground will work, and in the video I suggest routing that connection to an open post on the ground bus from the fuse block.

Hi. Great video. Is it necessary to have an inline fuse for this installation? If so where do you put it? On the + between the battery and the relay?
@TotalMotorcycle
@TotalMotorcycle Жыл бұрын
You could absolutely use an inline fuse to protect the aux fuse block, and on the positive wire coming of the battery to the relay is a good place to put it. That way you're protecting the relay and the box.

What is the shortest time you can set to receive GPS updates. I thought I saw where the shortest time was like 5-7 minutes. That's certainly not real time updates.

Hey. Great video. Very helpful. I have a question. Can a single relay power the hole fusebox? I bought the same fusebox and I want to attach heated grips, fog lights, a voltmeter with usb socket and a GPS on it. Do I have to get a bigger relay or a thicker cable from the relay to the fusebox? Thanks
@TotalMotorcycle
@TotalMotorcycle Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! Typically the relay and the aux box will be rated for their maximum amperage. Usually they'll be 30A but not always. Figure out the draw for all the devices you want to connect and make sure it's less than the max load for the relay and box. You can do a LOT with 30A, but if you need more you'll want to wire up two separate boxes to run the whole thing. Lastly, you can search "wire amp rating" and find charts that will identify which gauge wire to use for what current.

Ive got 3 of these. One still works, two are only 6 months old and failing. Ive gone back and forth with "customer service" going on 5 weeks now via email. Clearly the battery is failing/defective and they STILL have me jumping thru hoops with troubleshooting this POS. Dont but this junk. Customer service is a joke.

If the manufacturer didn't provide me with a switch circuit how should I route the relay and the box, could I still use the light from the license plate, I am sorry to ask all this questions but when it comes to electrical all that is Chinese to me. I am just trying to connect a gps but I like the idea to have a box that I can use for some others devices. Thank you in advance for your reply
@TotalMotorcycle
@TotalMotorcycle 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question! If your bike doesn't have an accessory circuit, the easiest is to power the relay through the license plate lamp for sure. You could also power it through the horn if that's easier to get to. Best of luck!

I confirm that dealing with Quin is a nightmare. I spent a lot of time with their chat, and they assured me I would love their modular helmet. Helmets were not available in Las Vegas to inspect or try on which should have been a deal breaker. Based on their happy chats I broke down and ordered a modular helmet. I wear a Shoei Neotec Large, A Schuberth C4 Pro Carbon large and an interim purchase of a Bilt Nomad modular also size large. I was advised to order a Quin XL which I did. Upon receipt I opened the slightly damaged shipping box and slightly damaged inner helmet box to find the helmet interior to appear very cheap. A large label was protruding from the helmet liner. I tried on the helmet and it hurt my head. I have no clue why Quin can't properly size a helmet. I communicated and asked for a refund. The emailed me a return shipping label. After they received the package, they waited several days to open the shipment to process my refund. I had to ask them to inspect the helmet to get my refund. I eventually received a refund minus a $25 restocking fee. They reminded me that their small print obligates me to pay a restocking fee. I feel that I am penalized because they have no helmets available in a city the size of Las Vegas to inspect and try on. Their restocking fee should be waived because they have avoided overhead for having helmets available in local dealers. The helmet had all the features on paper that I would have desired. I was especially interested in the low weight. Unfortunately, these features are of little importance if the helmet is not wearable. The cheap Bilt Nomad that I bought to wear while my Schuberth is being serviced for warranty issues is a more desirable helmet than the Quin. Dealing with Quin after the initial order has also been a very unpleasant experience. Learn from my mistake and don't order a helmet that you can not inspect prior to ordering. I wasted time and money dealing with these difficult people.

Hi! Good Review! One question, please: Is it possible to talk (intercom) while listing music?
@TotalMotorcycle
@TotalMotorcycle 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question! Yes, the Cardo 4X allows you to talk over the intercom channel while your music is playing. The music volume will "duck" while you're talking and come back up to full when you stop.

Please do your research before purchasing from their website. I purchased a Vozz in 2017 and recently contacted the company to purchase a replacement, and I have serious concerns about the current operation. PM me for details, but also note that their FB page has numerous comments from people claiming they paid for and never received helmets.

I like this. I like to park my motorcycle in the driveway overnight when I know I will be on it the next day. But I am afraid of leaving my door opener remote on the bike as it is exposed to anyone who comes up to the bike. I want something that I can leave on the bike and easily hit when I want to open or close the door. Thank You for posting this

How often does it ping after being stolen and when tracking? "Real time" with pings every 5 10 mins seems like false advertising and does nobody any favors until its standing still. Does it have manual ping?

Question: how to connect auxiliary lights to a power distribution hub that has an integrated relay and five fused switched output circuits (3A nominal, 5A maximum). It's an Innovv Power Hub 2. My current setup is a pair of Motolights with 8-watt LED bulbs that includes a complicated wiring harness designed to handle 100 watts. This harness is a maze of wires consisting of a relay, switch to control the lights, inline fuse, and connections directly to the battery terminals. I would like to get rid of most of these wires and connect the lights directly to the power hub. I'm installing an Innovv Power Hub 2, and am wondering whether I could cut out most of the existing Motolights wiring harness setup. Can I connect the positive and negative wires of the lights directly to one of the Innov switched/fused circuits and include the light switch to control the lights in that circuit.
@Norquay.Mikado
@Norquay.Mikado 2 жыл бұрын
Okay, I think I figured it out. A separate relay is needed for the on/off switch that controls the lights. Otherwise power would constantly be going though the switch and switches aren't made to handle continuous power.

Great Video, but I'm confused. I just got my Denali lights and a dashcam. Both devices on their main power cables have another wire. Labeled Switched Power. So let's say I want to connect my dashcam and Denali lights. So far I know the cables that would normally attach to the battery goes the fuse box. . Now, Where do I connect the Switched Power cables of each device????
@TotalMotorcycle
@TotalMotorcycle 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Daniel! In this case, your devices contain their own relays. They use the main power cable to actually power the device, and the switched power wire to turn the device on or off. You would attach the main power to your battery, and the switched power to your accessory circuit or some other switched power accessory like your license plate lamp. The device will switch itself on or off when the switched power cable energizes.

Hi everyone, I also use this tracker, I was a little disappointed by the fact that it is not possible to see the status of the traker via the web browser and that it is necessarily necessary to use an application. I started developing a free web integration to fix it, it's on github under the name "InvoxiaWebClient"
