They both assert a story about Jay's death to hide the truth from those who are fully responsible, and they both make extremely implausible, contradictory, and incorrect claims. Both claimed to be members of the search and rescue team with specialised military knowledge. They both claimed to work with special operations in a UK headquarters and provided specialised search technologies, while Christopher Pennington, also known as "Christopher Tenerife," claims to be an army reservist, a claim that has been promoted by the mainstream media. For three days, they twisted the search in this way. In this situation, vulnerable young people are being expolited along "county lines and abroad and are forced into great and ongoing danger.
