Great review. You mentioned that the engine bay is "nice and simple"and "less to go wrong" - Is there any info that the JATCO CVT issues are now history and no longer an issue for Nissan? This would be my only concern but other than that, it looks like a nice SUV.

Parking garages (or carparks) are made of a ton of concrete and steel which inhibit cell signal quite significantly, thus explaining why carplay doesn't work as well when you enter them. Same thing occurs with the car radio if you've ever noticed that

You didn’t want to like it did you! Obviously it is aimed at a somewhat niche market but the continuing sales even now shows that thousands of people don’t agree with your criticisms. I would be pretty sure a few years in that it would be better than a stonic and much better than any Volkswagen.

Mate, great review, thank you! I am looking at the Mazda 6 Atenza right now to replace my rather aged 2008 Cerato EX Sedan which has served me beautifully. I think I can upgrade her now tho. Not an SUV guy for daily drive - I have a Luxo Jeep to tow the caravan, but I'd hate to drive that every day, just not my cuppa in traffic and shorter trips. Not so much into tech either, I prefer older switches and dials myself, so again the 6 seems to accommodate these traditions. Could be a goer for me based on your review! I owned a GD Mazda 626 Liftback before the Cerato and always loved that - Mazda finish and reliability was great then and seems to be even better now, as you'd expect. Thanks again, I reckon a test drive is in order.

Been thinking of getting one, been reading/watching a lot of reviews lately, everything so far seems to point me in the direction of a Subaru dealer but I'm a little weary of its engine longevity, the head gasket problem I once heard if it's still plagued by that, need more info on that before I take my baby steps to a dealership.. Any thoughts anyone?

I will be getting a Touring XT in Sapphire Blue around March this year, we test drove one from Narellan ( Campbelltown) south of Sydney, Remembrance drive to Picton, Menangle Rd to the M31 via the new Spring farm rd entrance and back to Narellan Rd, the car responds well at highway speeds, the air conditioning can be adjusted by voice control if you don’t want to go to the centre screen, I like the fact that it has a full size spare wheel and that the hatch cover can be stored under the boot floor. I live in the Southern Highlands of NSW and the car will spend most of its time on the M31 and back roads of the Southern Highlands Thanks for the review

I was like where on the Rocks is that? It's Kirribilli of course. Not at all on the rocks side. My old neighbourhood. Elamang ave baby 😘. And then the dreaded macquarie park haha. Oh man I used to have to commute there every day. Not fun. Greets from Texas mate. I just bought a manual M3 actually. Mine is new though so different interior to this one in your video. I don't live in a really big city anymore although Austin has it's share of traffic problems it's not like Houston or San Antonio can be. And it's easy to get out of town and into the hill country where it's mostly empty roads. Not sure I'd want to own it in the city but saying that I have driven through Houston about a hundred times with a manual and it wasn't that bad. Not my favourite but not as bad as I thought it would be. Cheers.

It looks like a great car. But even 2 years later.. And they still havent updated so many things. Things that probably still make people choose other vehicles. No heated front window? Still no full digital cockpit? No wireless charging? No wireless AndroidAuto/AppleCarplay? STILL NO LUMBAR SUPPORT?! And so many other options that are nearly 'standard' in Skoda for example but cant be found in this car, not even in the most expensive version. "Missed opportunities" best describes this car, sadly.

I've had the Tank 300 petrol ultra for a year now, It's one of the best cars I've ever driven. The downside is the fuel consumption and the ELK keeps turning on everytime I get into the car (which I understand is a feautre in all new cars). The indicator stock can be annoying at first but you get a feel for it after while. With regards to quality my right rear tyre pressure keeps decreasing slightly faster than the other tyres. Not sure if it's a GWM thing or a tyre thing, haven't had time tot get it checked out as I live in remote WA. Early on I had some rocks lodged from trucks crack the top surface of my windshiled. Had it replaced with RAC. As for everything else it's been perfect. I've done over 15K and most of it is long distance on crappy country roads with some city driving and beach dune off roading. It's extremely smooth, extremely comfortable and enjoy getting in everytime. It's my meditation machine. Happy with my purchase so far. Will update this comment in another year.
@4wheelsandaseat17 күн бұрын
Glad to hear your enjoying it. My feeling is that GWM are still learning what local market expectations are in terms of build quality and tech. To their credit they are improving, but perhaps not quite there yet. In a few years I think they will be vastly improved. Thanks for watching!

Of course it’s not an SUV and I don’t think many people buy one for that reason. I was in the market for a new small car with only occasional long trips. In the end I bought a very low mileage high spec, model called the Limited over the ditch. Has every option you would want and for a single person rarely with passengers it is ideal. I think the styling is timeless and it has looked the same 10 years and still sells well. Good honest review.
