Great interview. John's story about his Advocate article is great. 3 dogs groomed better than most people cracked me up. I remember when I came out to my supervisory colleagues and my boss at work. I was a federal law enforcement officer, a classically straight job. Anyway my good friend and fellow supervisory agent just stared at me for a minute, then said really, or are you just having fun with us? I was a bit if a joker. Anyway I looked at him and replied, I listen to classical music, play 7 instruments, love musical theater, love opera and even volunteer at the opera, live downtown, in a renovated 3 story Victorian house, and live with another man. How could you possibly not realize I'm gay, especially since your a trained investigator. I couldn't have left a bigger bunch of clues. Lol

I barely spoke English but still went to his table to ask for an autograph. He smiled sweetly, showed me a seat, and tried his best to talk with me. At 15, meeting Bruce Jenner was the highlight of my teens. I love that Kathleen went forward with her true heart.
