People I could be wrong here? However at 1:27 when Glennis goes up to Ponchos bar? The fella that served her? Looked like the real General Yeager

Great song! Robbie was a great songwriter. But I always said Levon was the heart and soul of THE BAND.

Great movie, but if you view it as a docudrama film, its way off from reality. Yeager didn't just jump in airplanes and go as he pleased. He was a test pilot, not a cowboy. And he worked hard and got tutoring for the necessary education. Stick and rudder talent wasn't enough. But still, GREAT movie.

I imagine G-ERTI from Cabin Pressure looking a bit like this (minus two engines). She was described as a "Lockheed-McDonnell 3-12" model, so probably an amalgam of this and the Jetstar

Is that extracted from the great movie "The Road to Nashville?" I recognized Donna Stoneman and Doodles Weaver, but I do also remember not seeing that clip before, and I kinda think I watched the entire film, but it was in a previous life that I left behind to forget, so maybe that worked. Or did Doodles Weaver make more than one movie about country music? Regardless, much thanks. I think that Donna Stoneman is under-appreciated. Her sister Roni has a Wikipedia page, but she does not. Also the farcicidal movie, "A Mighty Wind" includes a character obviously based on her who plays the mandolin with a capo applied. WTF?

I love Levon Helm's voice, especially his accent. He had an old Arkansas accent, like my Grandparents, Great Aunts and Great Uncles had. They're all gone now, but that distinct sound catches my ear still.

I'm so glad they put this dance in with Yeager and his wife. The powerful human dynamic of the why as well as the what - that which makes the triumph more wonderful, and the tragedy so woeful. Very touching.
