High context is more indirect and Low context more direct, but there is also a mixture of those within cultures too, to make it more confusing lol

Thank you for putting out such great practitioner friendly content. I really liked the portfolio based approach to taking action that you described in the video. I was going through some of your other material as well, particularly on LMX. I was wondering: Can the relationship determinants between leader and follower ie likeability, support, professional competence be linked to the approach espoused in situational leadership ?(eg: good lmx will develop if I) the leader is competent enough to be directive where needed, ii) is likeable enough to invite participation where needed or iii) is supportive enough to display well being related concern where needed).

Technically authoritarian means non-pluralistic. Which basically means a society that does not have multiple centers of power. Our society doesn’t have multiple centers of power simultaneously - we take turns. Most people mean autocratic when they say authoritarian. And autocratic is when there is no difference between the law and the opinion of the ruler/s.

Interesting points. When it comes to the research on leadership *_styles_* specifically, autocratic and authoritarian are treated as virtual synonyms. The research that this came from looked at supervisors, school teachers, and other types of leaders of teams and organizations. Much of the research was done in experimental settings. In other words, these terms within leadership studies have a more local meaning that doesn't always connect with the way historians might use the terms to describe how societies are run or ruled.

I work at 7-Eleven and I have a high quality relationship with my manager because I have built that by my self. Where, I work hard and executed quality work for gaining attention of my manager then I have started communicating about organizational task and grown my relation with communicating about social life. This way I have built a high quality relation with my manager where he supports me in any specific pitfalls while doing tasks and also be on my side while any criticism.

I think this leadership style is best suited to sports, particularly soccer/football. The sport's early days allowed players to express their technical and creative abilities, but with time, the development of new tactics led to players looking more rigid on the field. Recently, Brazilian coach Fernando-Diniz revived that sense of fun that seemed lost with Brazilian club Fluminense, giving players autonomy to express themselves. They would win the Copa Libertadores, and I believe he's a great example of a laissez-faire leader. I would also fit Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti in this category.

When deciding which style to use, does the kind of work being done need to be evaluated for the best fit?

Somewhat helpful, and me without a paradox inhibitor...As a Business student I am interested in this subject matter and i thought the presentation was structured well and explained clearly, I believe the final delivery of orginizational ambiguity will swing greatly in its purpose from service based to product creation type of firms where the flow of effort is inwards instead of customer centric. It's good to start with a few firm definitions so interesting to hear you break this down.
