I find it interesting to learn how you go about discovering Bach’s music. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Robert, Great job from one Robert Howard to another. I like the sound and spirit of your playing a lot! A couple of years ago I mentioned it would be fun to write a cello sonata for you to play. Well, a friend of mine named Rich Woessner that I play chamber music with had a new cello made for him by Chris Dungey and I wrote him a sonata to celebrate. If you would like to see it, I would be happy to send you a copy.

She was gracious enough to do a Skype visit to my cello class just before she did this. I was a student of hers back in 1977-79 at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her enthusiasm hasn't waned one iota over these long decades since. She was a tough teacher for me with absolutely high expectations. This is the suite I worked on with her, and what a pleasure hearing and seeing her in performance once again. I have the utmost respect and admiration for this woman. She taught more than just the cello; she taught religion and life through the cello. You can hear it as she speaks. I am eternally grateful to have had her as a teacher.
