Hello Renee. Sorry you are having trouble. We’d like to help, but we are not sure what you are asking. If you think you are missing a part that belongs on the machine, you need to contact the seller or the mfg to get that rectified. If you have a different model number, there are various possibilities as to how to action this. If you can provide a better and more detailed description of what cover you can’t find and what you are trying to do (‘delivered without a cover’ doesn’t tell us anything really) and your model number, we can revisit to see if we can help. Hope to hear back with more details.

Can you help I have the same fridge but the light under the door stay on even when all the doors are closed
@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 18 күн бұрын
Hi. We are not sure what you mean by 'the light under the door". If you are speaking about the light in the ice/water dispenser compartment on the door, there is a switch for that. On the control panel, there is a switch labelled "Light Water Filter". the 'light' part of that switch toggles the ice water dispenser light from 'constant on' to 'on only when in use'. if that light is on all the time, try to toggle the setting with this switch. If you have evidence that the light in the refrige or freezer compartment is not turning off when the door is completely shut, you probably have a switch malfunction. In this model fridge, the compartment lights are controlled by magnetic switches that are hidden and get ‘tripped’ when the door is shut. To find the magnetic switches, use a small strip or disc magnet to probe around per below. Look for the light to turn off while the door is open. your magnetic should trip the light off even with the door open. If not, that might help you ID which switch may have gone bad. Freezer Compartment: with the freezer door slid out in the open position, slide your magnet around the (often) white freezer body walls inside the freezer compartment in the area of the door slide tracks. Start with the left side (facing the machine), then the right. If no success, try the body face where the rubber gasket contacts.. The light should go off with the door open. French Door Fridge. With only one door open at a time, slide your magnet first around the top door hinge housing mount. On this French door fridge this is often a plastic box mounted on the top of the body at the outside front corner where the door hinge is. If no success, try along the front face of the body top wall where the door gasket meets. The doors trigger independently, so work with only one door open at a time. When you find the switch, the position will be the same for the other door. If the light goes out for one door and not the other. you have a hint as to which switch is bad. Good luck.

That part - 1600777 is no longer available anywhere. I found part number 2038075 as a "close" replacement. It looks a little different and mounts in the machine OK, but it is a little bit narrower and takes some effort to make it latch when setting the vacuum to lock in the upright position. I used the 1600777 before and worked well until it broke (again). Got them both off the jungle site.

Well, that is annoying. It is a shame because this part is used on many different models. A bit of checking confirms that 1600777 is indeed discontinued. We wrote to Bissell to inquire about a replacement part. They replied and recommend that these part numbers are a good alternative: - 1611908 - 2031421 We would be interested to hear if anyone tries these part numbers. We also found an after market version (non OEM) offered on a third party site. We contacted them in order to verify part compatibility and site authenticity, but they have failed to reply, so we won't be recommending this path. Lastly, we contacted an appliance part supplier for their recommendation. They replied that they will do a bit of research and will advise if they uncover anything. Your suggestion to substitute 2038075 sounds like another possibility. We will update our vid description to note the disco and the possible substitutions. This was very good information, William. Thank you for taking the time to share all this. You help is very much appreciated.n uh

@RJFix-pq6jz 27 күн бұрын
Hello and thanks for watching. This may not be great news. Many LG fridges (including the one in our video) use a unique compressor design called a “linear” compressor for power and noise savings. Unfortunately there has been some reliability issues with them and they suddenly stop cooling. If you think you have a compressor issue, we would suggest calling LG. The phone number should be on the tag inside the compartment. Due to the number of notices, LG may be offering some things. You may want to try some things yourself first. 1. The fridge is often cooled by moving chilled air from the freezer. Be sure the air vents in the compartments are not iced up or clogged in any way 2. Make sure your electrical outlet has enough voltage. Some areas reduce power during peak demand times. 3. Reset the machine. Two ways to do this. Either: - a. Unplug or trip the breaker for 30 seconds and then re-establish power - b. Open either door and press the ‘refridge’ and ‘ice plus’ buttons simultaneously until the panel starts blinking (typical about 5 seconds) After a reset the machine (if working properly) will start to cool. It could take up to 24 hours to reach the set temps. And as far as ‘set temps’ go. 0f for freezer and 37f for fridge is a good starting place. After established, you can raise or lower a degree at a time until you reach ideal for your needs. Good luck!

Is fan suppose to spin all the time or just when it needed to?
@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 2 ай бұрын
Hello! With so many models, brands, and designs it’s hard to say conclusively. But generally, refridges have two fans, one to circulate the air to perform cooling and another to cool off the compressor and pull air through the coils. Generally neither of these should be running continuously. They both should cycle on and off depending on the demand and need. In many machines the circulation fan also turns off if the door is opened. There are many service related reasons the fan could wrongly be running 100% of the time - thermostats, cycle switches, faulty motors, etc. Before service, we would recommend checking that the coils are dust free and not clogged causing overwork. Good luck and thanks for watching.

Hey there. The machine in our video uses the AF-2 air filter. Per Frigidaire, this filter does not have a critically specific air flow direction. Your newer machine uses the RAF-2 air filter, which is replacing the AF-2. The RAF-2 filter is direction specific with a much more pronounced black side, and should be installed with the carbon (black) side out. Hope that clears it up for you and thanks for the comment. We will update our caption to note the RAF difference.

This is a conundrum. Before calling for service., we would recommend you test three things: 1. The refridge section is often cooled by blowing air from the freezer to the fridge. If the air is not moving, we would check for food blocking g the vents, spillage clogging the vents, ice forming at the vent, or a bad fan. 2. The power supply must be sufficient. Check the wall outlet to be sure it is providing the full voltage it is supposed to. 3. Reset the machine. Unplug the unit (or trip the breaker) and leave it sit for at least 30 seconds. Re energize the power and set the temps (generally a good start is 0f for freezer and 37f for fridge). This will reset the machine. Wait 24 hours to stabilize then recheck operation. Good luck!

@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 3 ай бұрын
Theoretically, the TPM system should be independent of the traction system. But. We have seen in one of our vehicles a couple of years back, where the traction light came on along with a check engine light. The culprit was the charcoal canister filter. Changed the canister, reset the computer, no more issue for years now. Dealer said that the traction light coming on due to the canister seal failure was totally normal. We would recommend having your car’s computer error log read (via the OBD port) to identify what you have going on there.

I live in NY I drive like 5000 per yr , what’s u recommend the time change air filter or cabin filter ?
@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 4 ай бұрын
Hello Nick. Toyota recommends that both Engine and Cabin air filters be changed at 10,000 miles for ‘extreme’ service and 15,000 to 30,000 for normal service. And of course that’s the official word. But our opinion is that mileage is a good indicator since it gives an idea of how much the filter needed to do its job, but it’s only part of the story. For example if you live in NY you may have been affected by the extreme wild fires from Canada in 2023 - air quality was a total mess and might have accelerated filter replacements. We have a number of cars that range from daily drivers to limited use, and our area and use combo is not extreme by any measure. We check them one year after it was changed. You see how easy it is to pull them out and do a visual ‘light filtration’ look, so it’s 10 minutes to do. If they look past it, we change it. But otherwise they get changed every other year at the two year mark or 15,000 miles whichever comes first. The filters are cheap enough on-line that the use doesn’t need to be pushed to limits. Thanks for watching and for sparking a good discussion.

Omg I have the same fridge. Can you please tell me how to turn off the lights that come on when you open the freezer?
@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 4 ай бұрын
Hey Mendel. We are not totally familiar with this, but we have some suggestions. Generally there are three ways to disable the compartment lights. Number 3 below is most common. 1. The fridge has a Sabbath mode. Not all models have this. Turning this feature on is most often a combination of button presses on the control panel. Which buttons are involved will vary by model and you’ll need the owner’s manual. 2. There is a mechanical switch that gets compressed when the door is shut, interrupting the circuit and shutting the lights. Look on the body in the area of parts that actuate when the door is manipulated for a “pressable” switch, typically rectangular with a hinge on one end, or a round ‘straight in’ plunger type These buttons can be taped ‘pressed’ in the closed door position. 3. There are hidden magnetic switches that get ‘tripped’ when the door is shut. Let’s spend a minute talking about number 3. To find the magnetic switches, use a small strip or disc magnet to probe around per below. Look for the light to turn off while the door is open. Freezer Compartment: with the freezer door slid out in the open position, slide your magnet around the (often) white freezer body walls inside the freezer compartment in the area of the door slide tracks. Start with the left side facing the machine, then the right. If no success, try the body face where the rubber gasket contacts, but don’t mount your magnet in the way of the gasket making a good contact seal. French Door Fridge. With only one door open at a time, slide your magnet first around the top door hinge housing mount. On a French door fridge this is often a plastic box mounted on the top of the body at the outside front corner. If no success, try along the front face of the body top wall. The doors trigger independently, so work with one door open only. When you find the switch, it will be the same for the other door. Single Door Fridge. With the one door open, slide the magnet as above - start with the top hinge mount area and then if needed try the front face of the body top wall in the area where the gasket contacts, but don’t mount your magnet interrupting the gasket seal. You could simply tape the magnet in place, or use a small patch of Velcro. Velcro will allow easy removal and replacement as needed, and will mark the spot on the fridge for next time. Good luck, thanks for viewing and commenting, and happy holiday if you are celebrating. Let us know how you make out.

@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 4 ай бұрын
Hmmm. Interesting dilemma. If you are sure that you have a Frigidaire Pure Water filter, they are most often a ‘press’ to remove. Press the base in and the filter pops out - kind of like some cabinet doors or auto fuel tank access doors. The press can be substantial but not overly aggressive. The bottom of these round filters are usually either: a) flat and flush with their mounting surface or b) rounded like the bottom of a bottle. There are some older Frigidaires that have a different system, sometimes called PureSource. The bottom of those filters have indentations on both side of the bottom creating a handle in the center that the user can grab. Looks kind of like some stove knobs. This system would require a quarter turn counter clockwise to remove. Listen for the click and pull straight out. It sometimes helps to continue the rotation while pulling it out. Replacement is exactly the opposite motion - insert fully and while applying gentle pressure inward, rotate clockwise until it clicks and locks in place. Good luck!

Hello and thanks for watching. Unfortunately when this happens, it is usually the control panel board that has gone bad. When you press the activation switch with a glass, the machine reacts depending on how the control panel is set - ‘water’ opens the water valve and natural house pressure in the water lines dispenses - ‘ice’ turns on the screw auger in the ice tray which moves cubes to the dispensing chute - ‘crushed’ does as above but also engages a crushing blade If nothing is dispensing while the activation switch is not pressed it’s likely not the switch. If you hear both the water valve click and the auger motor turn on when you press the activation switch, likely the control panel is shorted. This is an expensive part, we would recommend a technician - we are giving ‘best guess’ since we have no contact. You could try letting the machine totally defrost to see if ice build up may be causing this, but we don’t have a high degree of confidence in this solution. Good luck. We would love to know how this works out.

Question: What is the part for a bypass plug if you have reverse osmosis?
@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 5 ай бұрын
Hey Carl. Thanks for watching. There are two schools of thought when you have a RO whole house filter. - Some believe that keeping a (real) filter further reduces contaminants via the charcoal element in the filter. This filter will need to be replaced periodically. - Others believe that the (real) filter is unnecessary and prefer the long term cost savings and the potential for increased water flow at the fridge dispenser. - It’s a personal choice. We are reluctant to offer a part number for the bypass since there are so many models out there. But we can give you a head start in your search. Bypass filter A15601102 will GENERALLY be the bypass replacement for a PWF-1 filter. We THINK this is a good number for you to start your search with. Please VERIFY this conclusively before you purchase, as we cannot be responsible for knowing all applications and compatibility. The Frigidaire site (Frigidaire.com) gives an opportunity to check compatibilty by refridge model number. Good luck!

I’m struggling just to the temperature up. My refrigerator it’s to cold . Any idea?
@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 7 ай бұрын
Well, there are all kinds of sensors in these machines. Some even have a sensor by the air filter that senses the temp of the room the fridge is in. Of course any one of these can get screwy. But we would recommend three things before you reach for a technician: First check the fridge/freezer temp settings. Ideal is 37 degrees F for the fridge and 0 degrees F for the freezer. In a single compressor machine, the fridge cools by drawing the cold air from the freezer and circulating that cold air into the fridge compartment. You can try raising the fridge and freezer a degree or two and see if that helps without causing any freezing issues. The combination of sensor input sources can drive a need to stray from the 'ideal' temp. Secondly, check to see if the vents that draw the air from the freezer to the fridge are blocked or obstructed. If they are, that could cause frosting in those vents which could over cool the air. Lastly, check that the fridge seals are not compromised (broken, gapped, fridge not level causing torque at the doors, etc.). The escaping cold air can cause a sensor to read a need for cooling and some sections of the fridge can get over cooled. We also found this website from LG (written in 2023) that talks about this issue, and offers some suggestions. www.lg.com/ca_en/support/product-support/troubleshoot/help-library/cs-CT20098040-20152952232260/ Good luck!

@RJFix-pq6jz
@RJFix-pq6jz 10 ай бұрын
Hi there. We think it is great that you tried it! So you got the cover off. That was a quarter turn to the counter clockwise and it just came off. Now you have to get the filter out of the cover. That is a bit tricky since you can't push it out from the front. On the filter itself, if you look closely, you will see what looks like a cellophane tape strip along each of two opposite edges on the side of the filter you can see. Those are actual removal aids. Flip one of the 'tape' strips up from the inner edge (the edge closest to center). That should provide a handle that you can pull on to yank the filter out of the cover. No need to pry, just pull on the 'tape" strip. The new filter then goes in with the 'plus sign' grille side into the filter cover (i.e. we are leaving the two 'tape' strips on the new filter visible again). Just press fit the new filter into the cover. Put the cover back on the fridge with a quarter turn clockwise once you line up the tabs. You can do it! Let us know how you make out.

PS. I'm sure that it goes without saying, but make sure your LG Air Filter assembly looks like the one in the video, so our instructions are consistent.

Perfect! A bit of a firm push on the cover toward the back wall of the machine while turning can help.

Hola tengo un refrigerador LG y las luces no apagan con la puerta cerrada y no funciona el dispensador de agua que me podría causar esta avería 😅

Hey. Just a guess, but maybe something to think about. The water dispenser on an LG will not work if either of the doors is open. If the light is not going off when you close the door, the machine may be thinking that the door is still open. If it thinks the door is open then it could be cutting off the water dispenser. I would offer that you solve the light issue first (shorted switch maybe) and see if that in turn solves the water issue. Good luck!

I don't know why LG does not have a simple on/off. I have to unplug to turn it off. This is stupid design. My next fridge will not have LG in mind.

Thanks! It would have been helpful to note change intervals or how often to check,.

Excellent question! Most 'experts' would say that they should be changed between 15,000 and 30,000 miles. Our Toyota Service Schedule says that it should be inspected at 15,000 and changed at 30,000 or when airflow is noticeably reduced. Our opinion is that Inspecting at 15,000 could mean that it might need to be changed well ahead of 30,000, and noticeable air flow reduction is too late. Our thinking is that driving conditions (environment, road surface/condition, extended idling/traffic, etc.) would impact that filter life more than mileage. As an example, we picked up a 4 year old car last year with only 8500 miles on it and the cabin air filter was a mess. So we inspect them every spring and change when we see the filter beginning to look past service life. Hope that helps.
