I know this video is old, but I want to thank you SO MUCH for showing me that rotation barely matters at all. I've been so hung up on getting things right and doing it perfectly that I've been struggling and failing for so long to coordinate everything AND watch everything else going on. I watched your technique of absolute chaos, desperately flinging out whatever spells you could whenever it was safe to get them out, and it worked for me, I finally completed this duty after multiple failed attempts. I am now a fully-fledged Chaos Mage.

I have done all these quests but when I get to this one, the moogle isn't even there? Do you have any idea what's wrong? I read something about the Manderville Guy quests may have something to do with it, but I can't find that connection in that questline.

Does it need to be completed in a group ? I have completed the dungeon solo twice and I'm not unlocking flame thrower ?

No you can get to it without flying; I just already had flying unlocked. I apologize profusely, but just about anywhere in the HW areas you can get to without flying - besides, you have to have all the aether currents first to do so, and while you're collecting them, you should take note of your surroundings. If you're wondering about how to get to the Great Gubal Library, go to these coordinates (x.12.9, y.36.5, z.09) to Matoya's Cave, but don't go in, and go to the left and take that path and go up the stairs and it's there. Hope that helps.

Gonna be completely honest, this might be my absolute favorite fight in the entire game. It's not even close to objectively the best fight in the game, but idc. I had so much fun with this fight and I can't deny how big of a smile it put on my face.

There's a bug for this quest where sometimes you can miss the trigger for Hermit's Hovel and the fight won't start. I was able to get it to trigger by just walking out of the area then coming back in, but there's probably a more precise way to do it.

Such a bad quest design with the forced dialogues and out of combat, no indication.. looked literally 15 mins for the 3rd bomb. It sucks.

this 23 minute video couldve been one picture of the map with circles on it. the last target of the mission should be the one who made it without any markers.

For everyone saying there is no indication of where to go; I agree with the first and second set of mobs you need to kill, but the 3rd you get guided by the npc and Hermits hovel is literally on the map. Still sucks tho

This has to be the most annoying starting class mission there is, nothing is marked, nothing is noted it's a "good luck finding what you need" and even worse there is a fake mark of a red ring on the map that doesn't mean anything at all.

this quest pissed me off. it gives you absolutely no indication of WHERE you need to go. stupid design for a quest

Thanks for video. I got lost twice. Once trying to find the bombs and 2nd finding hermits hovel. A bad tedious quest with barely any directions given. It would have been nice if you edited the video though at 14:00 and cut out the parts of you checking the map and getting lost yourself. You got a like from me.

Thanks for posting - just wanted to comment that if the Unicorn's quest key is red, take off your soul stone as White Mage and you can then heal the Unicorn with cure. ...otherwise the quest stays red even though you are qualified to do it. ;)
