I once saw an ancient elevator in a Hawaiian hotel that had analogue buttons and floor indicators. It was like watching a 1950s manual typewriter clicking away.

@@obsidianelevators It was at a hotel on Oahu called the Polynesian Residence, but I checked and it was renovated 5-10 years ago which included replacing the elevator.

I thought PSU was fully locked!! I'll have to cone back here some day to film here. Unless if they're all restricted now, granted this was filmed 2 years ago now

This building is restricted 24/7 so that only people with a PSU ID card with access to this building can use these elevators.

Yeah ik, I tried getting in there but they were locked. I just called this the parking elevators bc they served the underground parking garage, and that’s the only floor I was able to access.

This one only works for specifically these elevators. Other buildings with something similar may have a different code to access restricted floors.

This is where I spoke to the OTIS Techs when I was here. The reason they are going with OTIS here while L5 went with KONE is because the building owner is NOT satisfied with KONE's service. Generally OTIS is a lot nicer & better with their service, so that's what the building owner went with I'm not complaining though, OTIS Compass mods are quite nice for what they have to offer These are also Gen2 conversions!!

These were my first KONE Polaris!! I agree, Destination Dispatch for 7 floors is a bit overkill, but what complaints do I have?? I actually spoke to some OTIS techs here in one of the other banks of Elevators, and it turns out that the building owner is going with OTIS for the rest of the Elevators since they are not satisfied with KONE's service

I went here & filmed these on Friday. I only managed to have enough time by Short Term to film the 3 banks in the Parking Garage followed by these. I will definitely come back here soon to film the TKEs as well, since those are new. I love the bottom-drive motors on these!

At this point the TKEs at pdx are a year old, but the motors in those are epic! Especially elevator P-33.

This isn't low on oil, it has a piston lubricant issue at the bottom which causes friction buildup when it's leveling on the top floor. It's been doing this for years

My local Macy's at Coral Square got a similar modernization at the beginning of 2023 (as the THIRD elevator to get modernized at THAT mall), following the Montgomery Vector at Sears by Epco Survivor in 2013 and then the Westinghouse at JCPenney by GAL VPMC in 2019.
