She’s a very competent bricklayer as is Beth jade skinner. Most males will never want to be bricklayers and an even smaller amount females will ever want to be bricklayers . For those that do want to be bricklayers know your limitations regarding lifting weight . A bag of cement used to weigh 50 kg it now weighs 25 kg for good reason,still heavy but more manageable than 50 kg . A 4 inch block weighs 20 kg a 6 inch solid block weighs 27 kg and a 9 inch cavity (hollow) block weighs 23 kg . The most common unit a bricky lays in Ireland is the 20 kg 4 inch solid block and we build the houses over hand . I’ve never come across a female bricklayer in Ireland and because of the way we build I’d be very surprised if there are any . In winter when blocks get wet they are even heavier . As regards stacking out anyone male or female that lifts 2 20 kg blocks at once is asking for trouble . I’ve never laid 6 inch solids , they are to heavy . I very occasionally lay 9 inch cavity blocks 23 kg but again best to avoid them . Women in particular that are interested in being bricklayers need to be very realistic about the weights they can safely lift , don’t be fooled by other women egging you on in social media ect telling you can do what ever you want , into thinking you can build yourself up to be as strong as men and then over extend yourself and cause an injury . Brick and block laying is a rough trade some men that start at 16,17,18 never make it to retirement age because of the toll it can have on the body . Be realistic.
