Thanks for a look at present day Broken Hill. Having lived and schooled there during the 50s and 60s when The Silver City was thriving I am somewhat saddened to see it looking relatively sad and abandoned now. But nothing and no-one can erase my precious memories of growing up in that wonderful place. Best wishes.

The radio site just before Olary looks like MacDonald’s Hill. Used to do the routine maintenance on the Balaklava - Broken Hill system back in the 70s and early 80s. It brought ABC TV from Adelaide to the Hill as well as picking up GTS4 (from Pt Pirie) at Nantabibbie and sending it on to the Hill to be aired as BKN7.

Seriously we travelled all over the out back never seen an animal of any sort or a town. Australia is bogus, there was one pub and that was it, we starved for three days, had one peanut butter sandwich each on the second day

This is part of the main highway between Adelaide and Sydney. If you stick to routes like this, you will see a lot of towns, a lot of pubs and a lot of everything else. Remember though, Australia is vast and mostly desert so if you don't plan your trip, you could get permanently lost out there. The country isn't "bogus", its just bigger than most people realise.

Australia looks like India but when it died. With all the vast areas of empty land and all the homeless in Australia you’d think that there would be an easy way to solve it all.

Very nice, thanks, brings back wonderful memories of my living and working on Mulyungarie for a few years back in the late ‘80’s which you could vaguely see in the distance from Silverton. Brilliant place and time of my life there, in Cockburn when we came in for supplies once a week as it was only about a three hour drive from the station and of course Broken Hill itself once every two months for our two days off. Some of the finest people I’ve ever known I met living and working in the area so again, thanks for the great memories. Btw, a tiny point, at 1:44, you wrote goal not gaol, a tiny slip but one is for footy players, the other one is for naughty ones lol. Thanks again, take care and especially all those I lived and worked with, especially my best mate “Pink”(as in Pink F Lloyd, Pink Floyd, well, guess you had to be there lol, yeah sorry Lloyd, I hope you are having a brilliant life back up in the Blackall region and beyond :)

Mannhill was where I grew up in the 60's My family had the store there and I did my apprenticeship just down the track at Yunta, with Mr. A. E. Sherriff at the BP Oasis Garage. It is now the Ampol Truck Stop. Great times and a fantastic place to grow up in; so much history in the ared, but for most people, they would be unaware of it.

I have enjoyed your 2 videos that I have seen. I stumbled upon your Broken Hill video first and became a subscriber. I was anticipating your stopping at Little Topar in this video as it is my favourite Roadhouse/Bar in the whole of Australia. I am a retired Interstate Truckie, and this is the best place to stop in. While talking to other Truckies in Western Australia etc., any that had been there, also rated Little Topar as the best in the country. I also liked staying at Hilltop Motel, Broken Hill and Copper City Motel, Cobar. I do look forward to seeing more of your videos. Please keep up the good work.

Hi Deborah came across your channel by accident. Really enjoyed your video and have watched 3 more. So refreshing to just see scenery and pleasant music instead of non stop talking and close ups of faces. Keep it up. Subscribed.
