Law purpose is to deter people from doing stupid things by applying a penalty. If a law is broken too often, it means the penalty is not harsh enough. In the same time, the laws have to be tailored to be specific yet easily understandable. I understand that there is a lot of gray area in the law that needs work. As an european, this video was very educative. I thank you for that. One thing I don't understand though, why conceal weapon? If you carry a gun, it should be visible. If all the good guys would have the guns visible, that would be a very good deterrent for a lot of crime. On the other hand, if you have to hide your gun, then you are up to no good for sure.

Just wanted to add to the discussion of Reasonable fear, and only using deadly force if you genuinely believe an innocent persons life is on the line. The lawyer mentioned potentially losing your life if things go wrong, and being able to articulate reasonable fear in court, but he didnt mention the stakes of court. If you use deadly force to save your own life, or someone else's, and are successful, the worst that can happen is that you sit in prison. Prison is a very favorable outcome to dying or having someone you care about die, so the risk vs reward is infinitely in your favor.
