Maybe I'm going crazy, but is there a typo in the Round 2 board at 5:27 ? From my math, Total - Start leaves us with 2w 5c, and we have 3w 2c income from 1 dwelling, 1 TP (ignoring power income as it didn't seem to be factored here) This would be 5w 7c rather than the 5w 8c shown in the slide.

I don't know if you still react to this video, but if you do, I want to ask you something about the sanctuary. At around 11:20 you talk about the economical advantage of upgrading a temple to a sanctuary, saying that it might be a good idea to upgrade in round 2, because even if you pick the fire 1 favour tile, it will gain you coins. If you pick this favour tile in round 2, there's 4 rounds of income left, so the favour tile would net you 12 coins. Considering that a worker is equal to two coins, building a sanctuary would cost (4x2)+6=14 coins. You'd actually lose to coins by doing this. While also not using the resources to build more meaningfull structures in round 2. What am I missing? How do you think about this? I really like the video and just want to learn more about the game, so I'm hoping you wanna react to this. Thanks!

Awesome content ❤ Question about round 2. Wasn't taking 2 workers and hard digging f5 an option? I'm wondering about the outcome of this one as it's sacrificing 1 worker for 2 dwellings. Also then you wouldn't get the big buildings pass tile and maybe that's already making this move worse

Can someone explain to me how you can have enough power to do these starts? If u leech 6 and get one power through cults you only have 2 power to your disposal. But it seems like you always need around 7 power to pull it of. Am I forgetting something?
@Misogiii Жыл бұрын
Yeah it took me a little bit to work it all out, but the math checks out because its implied you have to sacrifice your power to make the exchange happen. In your example, the bowls start 5/7/0; You gain 1 power through cult track making it 4/8/0; Then you MUST acquire a bare minimum of 6 leech from other players, so the bowls turn into 0/10/2; Then, you power convert by sacrificing 5 power to move 5 power, which makes the bowls 0/0/7; You now have enough for both the double worker power action (4 power) and to convert power into 1 worker (3 power), plus the worker from converting your priest. You now have the right amount of coins and workers to build your sanctuary :) all the other scenarios play out exactly like that. I know he puts the power leech at the end of the cycle, but essentially think of it as needing that leech before you take any of the power actions, and everything starts to make sense. Hope this helps

There is no other way to put this. These 50 minutes and the way you presented the information was absolutely awesome. Thanks a lot for your time to make this video. I am already thrilled to watch the other 2, although I suspect the level there would be a little bit more advance i.e. the concepts would be much deeper and complex. Thank you, Zoras for opening your channel to content from others in the TM community.

I'm curious, do you think witches would have done better if they took those natural greens in easy reach early on? Not taking those two really hurt alchemists it seems, but witches ended up placing their dwellings less efficiently and perhaps a little later.
@mattellison6129 Жыл бұрын
Yep, they really should have :)
@evanmayer2964 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think they probably should've in round 2 or 3. The extra worker production might have been helpful for that 3rd town, or getting an extra hex further for distance scoring

I wpuld say you should keep the sanctuary in case you end up in a situation that 3 sized city is the only way out of a situation, you need this option in late game also... action 4->7 coins is hard to get when you play with opponents also it really does not take into consideration the race factor, I played the warlocks and had two temples as first buildings to get 4 favor tokens, I had like no dwellings until round 3 but managed to handle it
@BlackSabbath19892 жыл бұрын
I find it strange that you decided to turn 2 priests into workers to build a traiding post at the end of Round 4 instead of putting both priests into the last two slots of the fire cult. Maybe the power a bit earlier would have benefitted you slightly but you ended up getting both slots in later rounds anyway. Also nothing says "i got a good economy" more then starting your fourth town after everyone else has passed.^^

Thanks. Played my first game ever just now and was swarmlings and ended up going tall but not much cult. I was west with fakirs and figured out my strategy after building Strongold round 3
