What is the maximum number of modules you can test?

@alexandernarvaez6768 if you multiply the number of PV modules in the string, with the Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) of the individual module, you can find the string voltage. For the Z200 PVA, the maximum string voltage, must not exceed 1000V. Example: 25 modules x 38,95V ≈ 974V. If need to test at high voltage, I recommend to check out the emazys Z300 PVT, which can test at 1500V and 30A.

As with all solar panels testers (not only emazys) it is almost impossible to use them with panels that have optimisers build in. So unfortunately the answer is no. You will have to rely on the build in fault finding in solaredge.

Why would I need it in my array? Non of them have ground. Just + and -

Hi Alex. Thanks for your question. Solar service and maintenance providers choose our product, to quickly identify and find solar array faults. It is a mobile instrument and as such, it is not installed in the system permanently. If there is a leakage current issue in a floating PV system such as yours, then the PV system is typically grounded during testing. When the whole system is on a common ground, the fault is easily found with the Z100. Grounding kits are often used in these cases. The vast majority of PV installations are however grounded for safety reasons. You may find more detailed information on our website emazys.com/
