複数台所有しているけど、９９３だけは買い換えずに３０年間、ずっと手元にあります。 この３７～８度の中でも通勤に使ってますよ。 GT3はとうに手放したし、ベントレーもフェラーリも壊れていくのですが、９９３は整備すればずっと乗れるんです。１７万キロですが、消耗部品交換は当然替えております。

I first saw this in Scottsdale Arizona in 1996 when Porsche was close to bankruptcy. We left with the future of Porache in our hands and what a job we all did. In many ways the changes since have destroyed what was so special about the Brand. I for one am very proud to have been involved and played a very small part in the resurgence and survival.of Porsche.

30 years later this video still as magical as the day I saw it being put together. My husband is the guy in the video as well as was marketing at Porsche at the time. We saw this pop up this morning and it's always nice to go down memory lane after a long career.

996および997前期は、 「シリンダー内にかじり傷ができる(特に6番シリンダー)」が問題ですよね。本国ドイツのユーザフォーラムでも当時から話題トピックですが。 M96型エンジン(ターボとGT2・GT3のエンジンは除く)が該当。 オイルの循環機能不全(設計不備)にて、シリンダー壁に傷がつく。白煙とともに「タンタンタン…」という音が聞こえてくる。 なのでポルシェ社はたった6年で水冷M96型を廃番にしました。フラット6の水冷化の初号機として多大な投資したのに、修復では直せないと悟り。。。 中古車市場を見れば、997後期から価格が跳ね上がる(つまり業者は知っている)わけです。2012年頃のポルシェ専門店では、きちんと説明してくれる話でした。今はどうなのかわかりませんが。

In 1996, a good friend of mine worked in sales at a local Porsche dealer. He asked me to stop by the dealership, as he new I was a fan of Porsche, and was currently driving a 944. He sat me down in an office, put the VHS tape of this promo, hit play, and walked out. After watching it, I walked out of the office, walked up to him, and ordered a new 911. Because of this video. True story.

I bought a Vega GT new and now own a 996 and I can assure you they have NOTHING in common.

@@paulrose6359 Vega and Porsche cylinders were etched Al-Si. Chevy was first to market, called Alusil for the Vega, then Lokasil for Porsche. Plenty of articles about it. Porsche improved the tech and process, but not to the durability level of a nickle or iron sleeve.
