I'm trying to redirect a page on my website to a different website. I have tried what you showed here, but can't get it to do anything at all. Do you now what I might be doing wrong? I want for people to click on a menu item and have it take them to a different website.

I'm sorry, but it's hard to say without being able to see it to troubleshoot what's happening. I'm not sure if by menu item you mean a page in you main header navigation bar or a menu item listed on a page of your site. Typically you wouldn't use a 301 or 302 to direct someone to an entirely different website. Usually, you'd simply link a button on your page to the other site. But if this is an existing page that you want to be redirected to an external website, make sure that you include the entire URL address in the mapping so it would look something like this. /internal-url -> www.externalwebsite.com 301 If you're unable to get it to work as you want, I'd reach out to Squarespace support because they'll be able to access your site and see exactly what's going on.

The Headings font is Quiche Sans and the paragraphs(bod) font is Josephin Sans. Two of my favorites!

Thank you, really helpful When they ask you to create a username for your domain email address, does it matter if you use capital letters in the email address? Eg: your initials which might look better in Capitals. Thanks 💕🌟🙏🏽💕😊

@ Thank you! When I make a sale does the money come back to the card that I paid for the website with? That is my credit card I’d like to set up a bank account specifically for receiving payments from this website I can’t work out how to do it Also I haven’t been prompted to set up stripe accounts given the impression that square space has done all that as it says I’m ready to take payments but I don’t know where the money will be routed to.

@@stargazer1010 Squarespace doesn't automatically set up your payment processing. You have to set it up to connect it to your processor of choice (Squarespace, Stripe, Paypal, etc.). I'd suggest referencing this article from their help desk on how to do that and, if you need further assistance, to reach out to support directly. support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/235161188-Connecting-a-payment-processor

You can add a video block and link it to a Vimeo or KZbin video. You can also use an embed block and paste in the code (this is what I do with my KZbin videos) from the provider if they have that option.

Is it just this specific link or any link that won't work? If it's any link, sometimes things can be glitchy and there might be a bug. If you've logged out, refreshed your browser, and go back in and it still won't work, then you should contact Squarespace to let them know the issue.

What is the difference between a paywalled blog vs. course? SS charges for courses, so what are you getting for that option?

There's quite a lot of difference actually, depending on your use case. Courses have a lot more flexibility and features than a paywalled blog. I'm going to shout out a great creator in this space -Rache from SquareStylist. Thanks for the video! I was interested in charging a one time members fee (for my membership price structure) and making certain video collections available for purchase a la carte behind a paywall, but it doesn’t look like this is possible. I tried to add a paywall to a video collection but was given a message: “This video collection is currently monetized as part of a member site. To sell this video collection individually, first remove it from the member site, then add a pricing plan”. Does this mean that everything lumped under my member site is available across the board to members (based on whatever pricing plan I choose)? In other words, there is no way to have additional paid content under a membership fee? Hope this makes sense :-)

@dkdluxe Thanks for your question. I believe that is correct based on the current membership model. Once you have content within a membership it is subject to the membership pricing structure you set up (in this case your one time fee) and anyone who has paid that fee and is a member will have access to it.

Do you mean that you want to be able to put a different version of your company name than what you have set as your site title? If so, you can do that by going into the settings of the invoice and changing the it under the global email settings. However, that will change it on all of your notification emails not just for invoices so that's just something to be aware of.

@@floatinglotusdesign No, I'm referring to the invoice itself which only provided spaces for first and last name. I see no settings to associate the individual with a company. (I do have another option for invoicing but felt the company field would be useful here as well.)

I would suggest using a simple link to the .pdf file. You can do this either as a standard text based link or add the link to an image (if you have a mockup of your pdf, for example). Then when adding the link choose 'file' instead of 'URL'. When someone clicks on the link your .pdf file will open. A little bit annoying because its not free! If i want money to land into my account my clients need to select from one of the payment process which i have to pay for. I offer a service so that fee will be big as a percentage. Why is there no option for me to add banking details on my invoice then i can invoice and get paid for no extra charge.

@beanardi5733 As a fellow service provider, I can understand your frustration with the fees associated with credit cards, as they certainly can add up! Unfortunately, to use the invoicing feature in SS you do need to have a payment processor connected. However, it is my understanding that if you use Squarespace Payments as your processor, you can add ACH as a payment option which I think would have a transaction fee closer to 1%. This is not an endorsement or recommendation to do that, and I do not know all the details or specifics about it, but If it's something you want to explore, I'm linking a support article below with details about it if you'd like to know more. How could I make a paywall work for audio meditation content?

Excellent question! One option could be to create a video collection and turn the audio into videos to share your meditations (could be as simple as having a still image or video loop play over the audio). If you host those videos on vimeo or youtube (like an unlisted playlist) you can embed them easily. Another option would be to use a blog collection and write a short intro post about each meditation and share a link to the audio wherever it is hosted. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the question! Without knowing the specifics of your setup, my recommendation is to check how you have your email service provider (ESP) configured. Regardless of whether you are using the newsletter block or embedding a sign-up form from your ESP, that will only add an email address to your list. If you want them to get an email upon signing-up, you need to have an email message written and some type of trigger or automation set in your ESP that will send that email when they are added to your list. If you have that all set up, confirmed that the email is added to your list and are not receiving the email, then I'd check spam/junk folders and if it's not there you should contact your ESP support to troubleshoot.

This is useful information and something I should've started doing when I first started with Squarespace. I will make time to go into the Library and get organized and stop scrolling and searching. Now if I could just find time to make my own business site, in between creating for others ;>)
