First of all back in the soaker era, the 1970's you used MEK to soak your ball. Next I see this product being banned by us bowling.

I'm out! Once the guy said that he moved his feet 20 boards & his eyes 8-10 boards! I'M CALLING BS ON THAT!!! No product will do that. That's the equivalent of going from 500 grit surface to 80 grit surface. It's not happening.

Even if your at laneshine/4700 stable dont you need to add more teeth again with the tru cut pads before applying more polish again?

Thanks, Ron. I put 2000 grit on my Solid balls, 3000 on the pearls, and 1000 on urethane. The TruCut pads work very well for me.

Excellent review! Great video. One question? hope you can answer my doubts. This criterion hybrid ball is RG 2.500 Diff 0.052 and is a medium to heavy oil. The other criterion is the same numbers. RG 2.500 Diff 0.052 but is for heavy oil, why is that, why one is for medium to heavy oil and the other is heavy oil. And why the Paragon pearl. The green one is RG 2.48 Diff 0.56. And is for medium to heavy oil? So the Diff is higher and have more hook. But is not for heavy oil? Why is that?

Have a question about your polish. Can you tell me the difference between your tru cut hand applied polish vs storms power edge? I think i might like both but trying to see the differences between them thanks.
@Zlz787
@Zlz787 Күн бұрын
They're the same thing. Different brand. Slightly different chemistry. - mostly for adhesion to the cover to get that polished shine. -feel free to correct me. EDIT; I was right! The abrasives in the power edge are the only thing different. That would imply that the polish in CTD has more of a liquidity than P.E. -I've used power edge and it's the thickest polish I've used on a bowling ball personally.

I prefer the ctd hand applied polish and I mainly use the 5500 grit polish but on my classic black quantum I used 2k trucut then the 6000 polish and if any more shine it would be a mirror. But I prefer to use 1500/3000/4000 or p5000d trucut by hand and it makes it shiny with out polish doing those steps I have got my hyroad x to be a great ball to a awesome ball.

Our Polish doesn't have abrasives in it. Power Edge does. So our polish can create more backend reaction and can be done by hand.

Picking this ball up this week. Im a low rev player who was looking at the Effect Tour until i saw your review of that where you pointed to this ball as something that would work better. I definitely appreciate the honesty and especially the info about some covers needing some breaking in. Great work. Peace

I don't know if it does or not but I loved a jackal ghost , a versa max , the 2k16 forest green quantum, the taboo jet black and the IQ tour solid pin down at stable grit and I never had to change the surface because how much room it made for me.

@@brunsnick great question Brunsnick I am now curious as well because I bowl on old wood lanes at milwaukie bowl home of pba hall of famer Dave husted and I have had some balls I hated out of box and at other surfaces but when it became lane shined or 4700 grit or stable it was just awesome I could move all over the lane if needed.

Would you recommend using trucut on a brunswick rhino pearl or should this type of ball be resurfaced by a pro shop. Have only had my ball for around 5 months but my usual lane has caused some deeper scratches over time. Have started using brunswick Big B recently and has revived performance. Any tips?

I'm a big time track fan. Track right now is my whole arsenal. Right now I have strata hybrid, Kinetic black ice and archetype. I've been looking at the therom pearl to give me more skid and back end. Would you recommend this ball to add? I also can't seem to figure out solid ball from track that would be good for medium to heavy oil. My archetype just doesn't seem to do much

When you're doing a review you should only talk about the specific ball that it is you're doing. This ball is nothing like a purple hammer or the previous tanks. It really doesn't absorb oil at all. If you want this ball to work and more situations change the surface to 3,000. The ball loses energy big time because of the thousand grit. It is absolutely a different ball if you take it to 3,000. It crosses a lot more boards and finishes instead of just rolling down the lane after it loses energy.

I have the Jackyl Onyx and it is drilled 4x4x2.5 and I throw feet @ 22 aim at 10-15 and it breaks around 10 into pocket on a fresh house shot. Tonight is my 1st league game with it and Im using the Onyx-Rage evo and Roto grip pearl. I will update on how it goes. I am a average bowler who struggles with consistency so I may bowl (usually) anywhere from 145-220's. It all depends on how I feel when it is go time.

Yes, 5000 gives you a 4000 finish, for a 5000 you NEED the speed from a ball spinner to achieve it.
