Hi, thanks for your question. Yes, port 23560 needs to be opened on the remote probe device itself in order to connect to the core server. This tutorial is referring to connecting a remote probe to PRTG Hosted Monitor (and port 23560 is opened automatically for this solution), but if you're using PRTG Network Monitor (on premises), then you'll also need to open the port on the core server side as well - so both ways.
