video games aren't toys, its a media, I hate the fact that they viewed it as toys, they are games, but its a form of entertainment, like tv, movies, ect. but instead of doing nothing, you actually get to do whatever you want.

Wow this was like a time machine for me. I still remember my original NES. I took that thing with me everywhere, wven though you needed a tv and electricity to make it work

Nintendo was my everything then. It was all I could think about. I don't regret a bit of it. Wish I could go back and do it all over again.

2:15 “I like the details in the game” lol them 8 bit graphics look amazing dood I know 😆 3:11 If you need a book on how to win those simplistic games in the 80s you’re bad. I played A LOT of them on an emulator dawg they’re mad easy tbh.

What makes games so popular you say? Escapism from reality.

You had to live this to fully understand the craze. You had to physically stand in line and hope you can snag a copy of whatever game was hot at the time. If they didn't have it you either went to another store, if your parents wanted to take you there, or waited another week or so to see if they had it. If all else fails, you'd go to Blockbuster and hope there's a copy to rent for the weekend so you can try to beat it before it was time to return it. Good times.

5:03 what is that computer? also it's funny they said not to mention their last names.. if you beat alot of konami nes games they also don't list the programmers names and they had to use nicknames so other companies wouldn't poach their talent.

I don't think being an 80s punk would have been as much fun without all the controversy. Shows like this allowed us to perceive ourselves as misunderstood revolutionaries.

Revolutionaries? You mean the way all these college students today think they're actual Marxist fighting fascist and Nazis? But really theyre just fighting the other half of the country who disagree with them 😂 There were some Punks back then who thought they were actually fighting the system, but the majority were like myself. Just going out to the clubs, hanging with friends and having a beer. Letting out some anger and frustration while we slammed and sang along with our favorite bands

It is insane to me that main stream media wasnt trying to fear monger and they actually did a pretty fair story on the industry. Parents actually being parents and limiting their kids access rather than blaming the video game companies. What I would give to go back to a time like that.
