Late to the party but I got my hair cut in Phoenix by 4 different stylists and I hated my hair every single time. I like my hair one length and blunt cut-apparently Phoenix doesn’t have the basic skills to do that. Either cut layers without me asking, cutting too short, cutting unevenly. For $30 I can get the yellow crea clip and hair cutting scissors and be happy with my hair. No brainer.

I think for trying to go through this transition by yourself, it came out good. Now let your hair heal for like 6 to 8 weeks before trying to lighten it again. Trust the process

I bust my ass studying for a PhD (first in my family to go to college) and I lived on a meagre salary for most of my life - it infuriates me that hairdressers with literally 3 month's worth of training charge 200 bucks for a basic cut n root dye job. F that. F that.

And then those hairstylists also have the nerve to be condescending and treat you like you're a moron. Teachers, therapists, doctors, dentists etc. that act that way routinely get called out on it but somehow everyone takes it from the people who cut and dye dead keratin on your head and act like it makes them indispensable.

I have always resented how hairdressers keep bleating “You must come back in 6 weeks” or “You should come back much more often!” I have always sensed that I’m regarded as “less than” by them; sort of a silent vibe given out. I totally agree with you about the expense issue too!!!!! So this last 3 years I HAVE TOTALLY REBELLED AND CHOPPED MY HAIR INTO A BUZZ CUT TO SPITE HAIRSTYLISTS WHO I REFUSE TO EVER GO TO AGAIN!!! Bwaahh Haaa haa haaa!!!! 😂

Who the hell actually has the money and time to go to the salon every six weeks? I have better things to do with the little money and free time I have, thank you very much. If you are happy with the length and look of your hair and it doesn't feel like the ends are starting to get a bit dry/thin/split, then you don't need a haircut regardless of whether it has been six weeks or six months or six years. That seems like common sense. But they got it into people's heads that you need to cut your hair because it has been six weeks when it still feels healthy and looks fine to you like it's something akin to a yearly checkup or dental cleaning, only that you have to go 8 or 9 times a year instead of just twice. For dead keratin on your head that doesn't actual affect your health. Ignore medical or dental care, and you can end up losing teeth, limbs or your life. Ignore "hair care" and unless you are ripping it out by the roots somehow, it just grows back even if you end up having to shave it off. Getting your hair cut that often is no more essential than getting your eyebrows waxed, nails done, or a bikini wax. But somehow they act like it's super important. Why not try learning to cut your own hair as it grows out? Yes, it's a trial and error thing and you might mess up. But at least if you mess up, it's free.

Only around 25% of the federal Budget (our taxes) goes to the military. Another 16% for "Freight Aid". 41% and 100% are far enough apart to prove the ignorance of this man's statement of "They use all those taxes to". Same argument people use for "Too much money going to lazy people on welfare". Simple research and 1st grade math is all it takes.

Magnesium supplements and omega 3 helped- I also got divorced which helped decrease the anxiety.
