I was feeling sinful because of my dark sense of humor but then I read in the Bible Jesus was talking about his upcoming death in the cross and said, and I’m paraphrasing, “I’ve got to go to Jerusalem because after all a prophet cannot be killed outside of Jerusalem” and I thought, that’s a dig at his chosen people, man that’s petty dark.

The problem with the elephant analogy is that in religion, there is no evidence there is any creature in the town and the blind men are arguing about what something that isn't there looks like. Alternatively, there may be an elephant, but they are all making claims about the trunk that contradict each other.
@bestandsafe19482 ай бұрын
It also seems like he is saying religions finish each other off, even though they claim they are true. Makes it sound like in excuse for a religion with many contradictions.

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through me." He made a truth claim. All others faiths acknowledge Jesus was a hood teacher, but Christianity is the only faith God came as a man to save man. The others can't claim that.

I’m mostly atheist. But I believe if God is good, they won’t care if I spent my life in worship. They’ll care if I did good with good intentions. And if not, well who wants to spend eternity with a narcissistic God.
@bestandsafe19482 ай бұрын
The problem here is you have made a rule that God must follow for God to exist. Better yet, you came to this conclusions by morals you learned and values you learned, as if that IS the standard, yet you have nothing you can point to in order to at least "claim" that is why it is true. Narcissistic is thinking you deserve to exist with no charge or no one to think. The other problem, especially in the west, is that religion has been reduced to a "self-help" guide book, as if that is what God send these books for. Religion is nothing but an idea of being a "good" person, and in this market it cannot even compete with other "self-help" books, and the result is, unfortunately, we have people like you who would end up with the ideas you have. It is very well true that being a good person is a byproduct of religion, but I do not agree with it being the main idea. If God wanted good being pawns, he would make them. Won't dive to much into religion, but the sole purpose of our existence is to be tested on our faith. People with strong faith would be lead to "follow" what their book preaches, not for the sake of being good, but for fear if hell fire, and greed for heaven. Ultimately fear of God and seeking God.
@f4rt9892 ай бұрын
@@bestandsafe1948 seems like you misunderstood me. My point is, if God puts things such as faith, over goodness, then that is no God I want to follow anyways. I don’t care to bend my knee to a God who wants/needs to be feared. Sounds quite luciferian to me. But, if there is a God, and he does care about a persons goodness above all, that is a God I’m willing to follow and a God I trust to weigh my soul thusly.
@bestandsafe19482 ай бұрын
@f4rt989 once again you are making rules as if you get to decide what God should be and why that makes sense. You want God to operate in a manner that serves your current belief. Again, no action of your own, God must put the morals we determined above all. Let me make it easier, if God were to test people, what would God test people on? If you have any critical thinking skills, you'd agree that the only thing one can be tested on is faith. It is the lack of faith, of many things, that leads to one being immoral. If everyone knew for a fact that God existed and that he wanted you to act a certain way, EVERYONE would do it. The "sinners" would be the mentally ill. I also would like to point out that one must deeply think about why they do the things they do and why they have the morals they have. In essence, the strongest get to do whatever they want, and the only thing stopping them would be the fear that the same could be done to them, one can say "karma" another could say "God". Surely only the one with ultimate authority and superiority gets to live fear free. And so I urge you to ponder on the statement you made earlier and really think why the conditions you placed mist be followed by God for you to POSSIBLY acknowledge his existence. Finally, and this is sadly a big misconception, God does not "need" us to worship. Put merely thanking and acknowledging and giving credit to our creation is the most important thing for us. Ofcourse the latter conditions, such as being s moral good person, are criteria, and I would even say they are the true test of weather the former condition has been met. The distinction here is one who does good because if their "inate" morals, and one who does so in compliance with the only true power.

@@bestandsafe1948 Im not making rules and I don’t care if God operates in a way I see fit. As I stated, I’m mostly atheist. God could be not real for all I care. I also don’t care if he IS real, and he judges me poorly for not having faith, or one who puts worship of his work above all, because that’s not a God I want to be welcomed by. Also think it’s a load to say the only thing god can judge you by is faith. They’re God ffs. All knowing. They’ll know my INTENTIONS were good, regardless of the reality of morales. In short, If God isn’t real, none of this matters If God is real, but he’s a shallow narcissist who cares about faith and worship, he won’t like me and I won’t like him. If God is real, and he is good and just and charitable, he will accept me and I will accept him The picture you paint of religion and god is very unattractive to me. That’s mainly why I’m atheist to begin with.
@bestandsafe19482 ай бұрын
@f4rt989 This is probably as far as I will entertain it. God is indeed good, just, and charitable. When you said, If God exists, you have to be a but more specific, because of course there are many religions. But if you are referring to the picture I paint of God, then it doesn't really matter if it is attractive to you or not. You are only nonchalant about it because you do infact not belive the possibility. If you can fathom God's existence in the way I put it, than you must accept that with this scenario other things are true, such as hell and heaven. With respect, because I belive this go be true, it is reasonable for me to think that people who dislike God won't have a good afterlife, but the ultimate decision is of course with God. It is hard for you to accept the idea, because you lack the faith, that is why you can muster up the statements that I find very blasphemous. Here is somewhat of a rhetorical question, if you truly accept the possibility of there being a God along the lines I put God to be, would it then no make sense to research what all the fuss is about. I mean... surely it's better than taken my word for it. The reality is you actually don't care about the possibility that God existe, because you don't actually take it into consideration. People who speak like you seem to believe they have it figured out. You behave as if you have a solution to each of the possibilities you listed, but do you really? Do you really belive that if God existed and was judging faith, it would be satisfactory to dislike your creator?
