Cool rig! I’m PADI certified as a Rescue diver and I free dive every weekend on my local reefs..no deeper than 20-25ft. Perfect for a quick dip and running down the hill and steps to the water with the light gear looks way easier than my full scuba rig

all the people saying this is a stupid terrible idea.. i agree for trying to "scuba dive" with it but for freeing a stuck line in your prop or inspecting and cleaning your boats bottom what is the problem?? I agree for the potential of what people COULD do with it is bad but what it is for seems perfectly safe. (I am a certified diver)

They are both stupid. In many states, diving without BCD is illegal, and spearfishing is illegal with tanks. You can't go to unlimited depth, especially with this small tank and only on air, and if the police stop you with this while you're at sea, they'll ask for a rescue diver certification, and if you don't have one ... guess what happens

@klixtrio7760
@klixtrio7760 4 жыл бұрын
I agree. I found it funny when he said "unlimited depth" with NO bcd and most likely NO weights to dump (because the tank is negatively buoyant). Someone is going to take this to depth, their wetsuit will compress and become negatively buoyant. Now they're in trouble because they have overcome negative buoyancy with a puny little tank. Oh yeah and lets forget about mentioning nitrogen narcosis, oxygen toxicity, decompression sickness..Unlikely with the small tank but people may become courageous and start doing bounce dives. He should have said it can dive to recreational limits, and if you dont know what that is you shouldn't be diving with the mantus.

No limit to how deep you can go? Do they know what oxygen poising is? I guess technically their statement is 'true' because the maximum single exposure limit for partial pressures of oxygen recommended in the NOAA Diving Manual is 45 minutes at 1.6 bar. Compressed air has 21% oxygen and the max operated depth is @ 1.6 is 218ft. This means you could safely spend 45 minutes @ 218 feet. The tidal volume of the average adult is .5 liter per breath, with 12-20 cycles per minute. It would take you a couple of minutes to get down to 218 feet. By the time you got down that deep, you would need to head back up because will have already consumed more than half the volume in the tank.

I would def limit your depth with this product to around 5 metres max,there no buoyancy control at all and that's critical when shallow water diving to a max of 10m point. If your tired or have any emergency and need to stay of surface some form of inflatable life vest would be needed as well. Also you need to keep 50 bar/725PSI reserve min backup. They also do not mention what Air cylinders they are using approvals and these would need the usual 3-5 years inspection check up at an approved dive shop to stay legal and safe. as its Life Critical Equipment you're using. I do dive shallow water on 3.9litre cylinder with buoyancy control and can tell you now you'll get about 20-30mins@10m max on a 3.9litre cylinder if not exerting,water temperatures and relaxed (keeping 50 bar reserve) but even then Im very cautious on air supply and regular checking gauge. Shallow water diving personally takes more skill due to your buoyancy can fluctuate a lot more due to dive physics that it does after 10m mark,while difficult to get the bends between 0-10m mark caution still needs to be used esp as there no buoyancy compensation device fitted. For a skilled and qualified scuba diver using this product,he/she would probably know its limitations and functionality,for the untrained and unskilled newcomer . I would strongly advise taking a special shallow water coarse or some scuba training beforehand to familiarise yourself with compressed air scuba equipment . Also some dive sites may require you to provide a Dive Card on sites,refilling the air cylinders too depending where your using this product in the world,some are more strict than others. While I can see uses for this product like prop fouling,boat cleaning in harbour.maybe a limited shallow dive snorkel depths or a try dive ,some prior scuba knowledge is advised if newcomer to sport if going it alone and always dive in pairs for safety. Apart from above personal advice,for me personally if I was using this product,I would def wear a snorkel vest with manual oral air inflation as minimum Safety,plus a whistle attached to rig setup. You can be the best swimmer in the world,but if you should get the dreaded leg cramps underwater and need to surface least if have inflatable vest can float on surface and rest up,rather than trying to tread water in pain! Maybe the manufacturers could supply a safety vest with its brand Logo on it as part of product deal and def place a bright max depth XX metres/Feet label sewn on product in bold letters,as we know they are some dumb people in this world that like to blame others for they own stupid actions instead of taking responsibility for themselves and others because just to lazy,blame culture or don't have the brains to think safety first,more so with scuba diving. Interesting product,but know its limitations and uses and ull be fine. Stay safe Kids.

Would you advise not to use this product for a newbie looking to use it for shallow river diving? I have a MCA approved life jacket but Im a bit worried about shallow, 0-10 meter bends as i find these tanks empty much faster then you realise and I dont want to have to emergency ascent. Ive been getting mixed opinions on shallow water bends but am I right in thinking its now widely excepted that you can get decompression sickness in shallow waters?
@TheBoabby50
@TheBoabby50 6 жыл бұрын
Chris Liam. As a certified diver for many years I would offer the following. These tanks cannot sustain you underwater long enough to get the “bends, or correctly decompression sickness” (google it) Safe decompression limits for 10 metres are over 200 minutes, and you would be unlikely to get over 10 with one of these mini tanks, so the chance of bends is basically nil. However surfacing from 10 metres while holding your breath could result in an air embolism, or “burst lung” which can be very dangerous or fatal. As with many commenters I would also suggest some dive training to learn the basics of dive physics. It’s not overly complicated and could prevent accidents. They do look fun though.

so the oxygen in the tank will run out in 20 min if your more than 30 ft ?
@abdalabinladen
@abdalabinladen 6 жыл бұрын
Basically the deeper you go, the more air you use up. As ambient pressure increases, the pressure output must increase to match. It also depends on your breathing rate and capacity. This is a bad idea. There is no point in using scuba above 30 feet, and subjecting yourself to the risks of breathing compressed air for such limited air capacity. There is also no such thing as a scuba system that "makes you neutrally bouyant" without a bcd and proper bouyancy check. This is clearly a gimmick to scam people around proper scuba training and certification. Dangerous

If you go deep and then run out of air you will likely drown trying to resurface. At 30 ft. Your pressure is double so imagine that the tank is only half as big and you inhail twice as many air mecules at each breath. If you go to 60 feet imagine that tank being 1/3 the size and each breath takes in 3 times as much as one on the surface. Get certified.

of course humans breath air, not oxygen and there is a limit to depth, you can't go as deep as you want. in some countries scuba diving without a buoyancy device is illegal. Without a buoyancy device the rig is like something from the 50's but with a pathetic capacity tank.
