How far apart did you draw the eyes in three quarters? No One can explain
@ErensSketchingАй бұрын
Great question! In a three-quarter view, the eyes are typically about one eye-width apart when seen from the front. Here, the closer eye appears larger, and the farther one looks smaller and closer together due to perspective. I start by lightly sketching their placement along the face’s centerline and brow curve, then refine the proportions as I go. Thanks for watching!✨

@@ErensSketching thank you so much for your encourage words. Bro. Which book is best for portrait studies? ? .loomis metod or asaro method. . Which book do you refer? ?pls message
@ErensSketchingАй бұрын
If you're starting out, I highly recommend Andrew Loomis' 'Drawing the Head and Hands.' It’s a classic for mastering proportions, structure, and facial construction in a simple and approachable way. Loomis’ methods work well for creating realistic and balanced portraits. The Asaro method, on the other hand, is amazing for understanding the planes of the face and how light interacts with them. It’s especially useful if you want to improve your shading and develop a solid grasp of facial structure for more dynamic lighting effects. Personally, I use elements from both approaches. I start with the Loomis proportions for initial construction, then incorporate Asaro’s planes for refining light and shadow. They work beautifully together and provide a strong foundation for portraiture. Thanks for your question and support! ✨

Hi Erens. Jim from Madrid, Spain (a fellow artist and a New Yorker expat living abroad). I just found your channel and I loved the vid of this old man. Very well explained and executed. So I have signed up to your channel. I'm mainly a wildlife and nature artist though I also do Urban sketching and plein air painting, mainly in graphite, charcoal, ink, watercolor and gouache. Human drawing and painting, as well as people portraits have always been my weakness in Art and I have recently started to focus a bit more on Portraits to start practicing more on the subject. This is the main reason why I joined your channel after watching this video. It is a great example on technique and execution of a portrait. I've watched many other artists but you have resonated with me and my style and the type of art I want to do in Human portraiture. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and your Art and I will continue to watch your channel for more videos. Cheers from Sunny Spain! 😁👍😎✌

Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing! I’m thrilled the video resonated with you. It’s awesome to hear about your experience in wildlife, nature, and urban sketching, and I’m excited that you're diving into portraits. I look forward to hearing how your portrait practice develops. Thanks again for your support, and I hope sunny Spain continues to treat you well! Stay tuned for more content, and if you ever have questions or suggestions for future videos, feel free to reach out. Happy Sketching!

Hi Erens. I love your work. I am 48 years old and I am starting to draw with charcoal. It would be very important for beginners like me to know how to fit the faces together to achieve the resemblance. Thank you very much and greetings from Rosario, Argentina.

Thank you so much, and greetings to you in Rosario! I’m glad you’re starting with charcoal-it’s such a great medium. Fitting the facial features together is all about proportions and structure. I’d recommend watching one of my real-time videos and Full Head Sketches where I show the process step-by-step. Wishing you all the best! Happy sketching! 😊 kzbin.info/aero/PLkTqS3KKYKo7vEF6KOmdT-sG-4TFc-YRJ kzbin.info/aero/PLkTqS3KKYKo7o_H1rglSalIVtrV0jWcSl

Lovely work. One of your comments said you used graphite to reestablish mid tones (not listed in materials) then a bit later it looks like you went back to charcoal. Correct? What brand of charcoal? Thanks.
@ErensSketching3 ай бұрын
Hi Nancy! Thanks for catching that! I actually only used woodless charcoal pencils throughout the entire drawing, no graphite involved. I primarily use Generals woodless charcoal pencils, which give me flexibility for both details and broader strokes. Thanks again for your sharp eye and for watching-Happy Sketching!✨

Great question! Using references helps improve accuracy and technique, which is important for realism. When creating something new, I apply those same skills to bring my ideas to life.
