Your hair is gorgeous. I've been contemplating microlocs a lot lately and after seeing yours I decided to start mine. I actually did microtwist but hated the look on myself. My hair is long in the back and short on the front, and I didn't want to cut it to make it even. So they only lasted a week before I removed them.

@TheMamaGreen I've seen your starter micro twists and they looked gorgeous. Mines were terrible and I'm really not exaggerating. It doesn't help that my hair is very fine and thin. I think it's unfortunately just not for me as I'm not in a place where I want to add additional discomfort into my life currently. 😕

No oil on locs, overtime your locs will look gray and dingy. Steam locs will help with hydration.

I appreciated this video.. I'm new to the loc world... I love my hair, but I'm struggling... between unraveling and dryness on my ends I'm in desperate need for a hair regimen. My loctician has giving me 3 different routines to follow and I'm not pleased with any of them.

welcome to the loc family. I know that struggle. for unraveling. definitely braid and band. It was a bit of a hassle but I kept my hair in this protective technique for nearly two months. It did wonders and kept my hair fomr unraveling. Was your hair natural when you loc'd it?

Not adding conditioner might be ideal, locs can build up very easily and take forever to dry with heavy products
