God, the ending is so terrifying- also this. THIS CONCEPT IS SO GOOD! I love the fact that you changed the way he died by using another scene in the game! Here's my interpretation of the story The world or country is ruled by a patriarchy in which women have one of two roles; (1) Nun's whose sole purpose is to spread the word of the god and to submit to his power, and (2) Brides whose sole purpose is to wed men maybe even creating a sort of demigod or master-race or to act only as mother's that produce children. The two women we see grew up together but for whatever reason were forced on two different paths: one of worship and one of service. The two women were lovers and their form of rebellion was to remain in love and to not let their love be overruled and destroyed by such a society. Eventually, one of three things happened to the Brunette woman 1. She was exposed for having a same-sex attraction which is heresy 2. She was infertile and couldn't produce children or the children she produced were below the expected quality 3. She rejected the vows during her 'wedding' As a result she was executed, however, I'm led to believe the first or second event happened as what happened seemed akin to witches burning and her desires could be seen as a result of satan-spawn, or producing inferior offspring is a result of 'witchcraft' and as such she was to be made an example of. Now if the first event was the reason for the execution, my guess as to the blonde Woman wasn't killed may be because Nun's are considered important and as such can't be killed (unlike the disposable Brides) or her existence served some purpose (perhaps fuelling the God). Anyway thats just my interpretation hope you enjoyed and feel free to comment your interpretations.

Here's my theory, They were raised in a cult. We can see that in 0:18, this god is a human being. It is most likely a god because it is a "divine" entity. It orders for people to be killed. At 0:26 we can see that they went to different places. Apparently, in this cult: We can see that they differ in looks. One with short hair and the other with long hair. Considering they have to be some messed up denomination of Christianity (the cross and crucifixion) we have to know that most long haired brunettes, like Brownie here..are preferred. So it's based on looks. She was selected as a bride but went against it. The "God" burnt her on the cross. It is unknown what she did. The nun, Blondie, most likely was forced to watch her friend die. The pinky promise might refer to the fact that this is temporary and will be okay. At 1:43 we can see her giving a gift, this could possibly mean the grief she was in, because, obviously, grief. The part where Brownie says something to Blondie is just her reassuring her. The eyes open wide part when brownie was first killed was not actually her friend. That was another nun. Because we can see that in the parts where Blondie is clearly there, her eyes are green with black eyelashes. The eyes that were so wide open in the first part of the crucifixion at 1:09 is clearly not her, because that is an albino nun. This is actually very important to the story. If you did not know, Albinism is a condition where the melanin in the skin is 0. There is no melanin, basically. Melanin is what decides your pigment. Without it you're a pale ghost. Albinos do _not_ have red or purple eyes, they just appear like that in the light. You can search it, anyways, albinism also affects the vision. Many people are blind and visually impaired because of it. Notice how Brownie is the best candidate. All of the "brides" at 0:29 aren't seen, but since Brownie fits the description of the perfect bride in a cult, she was chosen. So what does the albino nun have to do with this? It could be for diversity or representation here, but the thing is, that means that this God was very strict. He wasn't merciful. He was the leader of the cult and they most likely worshipped him, because nobody could go against him for his actions. The nuns were also forced to watch basically. That's the end!
