The wooden rolling stand... do you have any plans for that? I assume you made it. I have a older scissor lift, but no wheels on it. I have some other bikes that for storage would be nice to put on a rolling stand and push them front to back together to make it a little tighter.

I've seen you guys do this a lot. You keep it pinned until you bury yourselves. When you feel your momentum slowing more than your tracks are spinning, let off the throttle, stop, back up and get another run at it. I don't get stuck anymore with my tracks. Just a tip from someone who learned the hard way.
@BackcountryLife11 күн бұрын
for sure pinning it just rip saws the snow and you get high centered.

@ I had a set of camso tracks on a ranger xp 1000 and a John Deere xuv 835r. I have a new set of backcountry lt tracks I bought for my canam but never mounted them and traded for a xd1500 Polaris. I guess I’ll have to get a conversion kit to mount them on the 1500

@BackcountryLife18 күн бұрын
Yes we run mostly in high but sometimes switch down to low when needed. Remember there is like a 35% gear reduction when you install the 4S1 camso tracks.

I bought a Ryobi 4 years ago, just in case I needed it. It saved my bacon and ice cream after hurricane Helene. Ran it for 9 days straight around 15 to 16 hours a day. Powered an up right freezer and 20 cube frig with plenty of capacity to spare.

I’ve been looking into a Polaris Khaos or Summit Freeride but have the opportunity at an Edge right now. Does the Edge seem as playful as either one of those two?
@BackcountryLife27 күн бұрын
What do you define as playful? I feel like the Edge is really playful; it's more playful than my Turbo Summit X Xpert. The freeride has upgraded shocks, which is nice for huge hits, but I don't go big enough for a freeride, haha. Yeah, the Khaos is a fun chassis as well. I would say go with the best price you can get. I know dealers are overstocked, which means you can get a good deal.
@derekfarnsworth753627 күн бұрын
@@BackcountryLife You’re right everyone probably has a different definition of “playful” but it seems like you got my point. I’m no expert rider but progressing every year. Currently riding a 2014 800 RMK. Great sled until I got on my aunt’s 2018 Khaos. That was a blast. Sounds like the Edge would definitely be an upgrade for me. There’s not much content out there on the Summit Edge so thank you for your vids, just and average group of dudes doing fun stuff. Keep it up.
@BackcountryLife27 күн бұрын
@@derekfarnsworth7536 Yeah really you can't go wrong with any of those sleds, so like I said I would just go with the best deal you can find. The Ski-Doos have a bit better track record for reliability vs Polaris and this is the reason we run them in our rental business. The Edge was sooo fun I really love it. For the money its a really great option. Thanks for watching. We are planning to have more snowmobile content on the channel as well.

I bought the 2020 version of your setup because I broke so many belts with my Polaris Ranger with tracks. Because I’ve been stranded three separate times, I’m a little gun shy using the Defender in high range. I’ve done it in perfect conditions on flat terrain for minutes at a time and I can occasionally smell the belt cooking. It’s so comforting seeing you in high range for long rides. Have you had any belt issues with that configuration/driving style?
@BackcountryLifeАй бұрын
So far no, we are in high range most of the time while driving.

Just so you know, those "sub channels" are just talk codes. It allows you to block others on the same channel as you. In fact when it's turned off, you can hear everyone on the channel you're on. 😊

When you went to start it I heard a series of clicks before the engine turned over. Is that the way Honda works or were you turning the start key on and off several times before the engine turned over? My wife gave me a Tusk Power pack for my motorcycle which I carry on the bike. Went to use it the other day and the instructions had gotten wet and the pages were stuck together. Have been looking online for the instruction manual without any success. Any help with that?

Mine runs 72mph not 55mph. It slows to a governed 68mph after a 1/4 mile or so. With a tune I think 76mph and with certain clutching and tires I wouldn’t doubt a top speed of almost 80mph
