Take a look at this beer can video, it goes through click by click how I create the " skin" that I use for many of my models, be it a beer can, a trout, or a dog. kzbin.info/www/bejne/injIiYOrhM6fr9ksi=YlLkc_L01H9dyRw4 Message me here if that does not answer your question. Scott

I was able to follow this in V12 until 4:40. I can't find the 'select component using a vector' anywhere. I'm used to V11 Vcarve Pro and am trying out Aspire v12. I wish they hadn't changed the interface so much. I recognize several of the icons from V11, but don't see most of them in V12.

Will there be a video of the actual carving?

Morning Stewart. are you looking for video of setting up the tool paths and video of those running on the rotary carving? In this model, there is just one toolpath. A .125" TBN finishing tool path. takes about 55 minutes to carve. thanks for watching Scott

I really love your videos and your instructions. Can I ask what computer you’re using? Are you using a pencil? Like Waco tablet? I’m really struggling with the mouse. Thanks Chris
@scottthompson56525 ай бұрын
Chris. Thanks. I use a mouse with a roller between the right and left buttons. I do have a wacom tablet that I occasionally use, but have not mastered it. My computer is a an ASUS laptop. I have about 3000 models stored on it currently, so may be upgrading the storage shortly.

4 things. 1. I make money suing Aspire, so it certainly pays off better for me than a hobby user who makes a few models a year, or mostly uses v carve features. 2. The only feature I found so far in V 12 that is not available in V11.4 is in the Tool paths area, and allows you to one click create a v carve vector from a 3 D model. Some people may find value in that. 3. Everything else in V 12 that I found so far, I can do in Ver. 11.4. albeit might prove to be slower and a bit more difficult as I ramp up V 12 skills. 4. The only other thing is the fear of V 13. What if that has amazing new tools I want, and then I would need to pay for 12 and 13 Hope that helps, it is certainly a better interface that 11.4.

@@scottthompson5652 ...do you anticipate vectric will implement A.I. into aspire..?
@scottthompson56526 ай бұрын
@@squidskunk Well... I think there are a lot of folks hoping that AI can take the manual artistic effort out of 3D design. there is certainly already people cobbling together different Depth measuring software with photo editing to develop depth mapping. Not sure is Aspire will be the first to the party on an effective marriage of all that technology. My playing with depth mapping on simple laser images tells me that it is no easy task, as lots of images have dark areas that clearly are not as deep as similar dark areas. My two bits is that it can not be made to work well. in the near future.

I can't thank you enough for demonstrating your modeling techniques in Aspire. I've used Vectric Desktop for several years but now I'm slowly learning to use Aspire with the intent to make relief carving of animals like you do. I've learned more from your video than from the dozens of tutorials I've watched in the past several weeks. Have you tried using a digitizing tablet and pen with the sculpting process?
@scottthompson56526 ай бұрын
thanks Doug. I do occasionally use a Wacom tablet. But I have found I am faster with a roller mouse. Probably just need to take more time to learn the pad. Glad to help

hi, I am from Argentina and I have Aspire 9.5 programme but I see you have Aspire 11.5 Can you explain the differences in the tools or applications to be able to do the work you are showing on the video, between the 2 programmes, please? I get lost at some points and maybe it is due to a difference in my programme. Thanks for your time!
@scottthompson56527 ай бұрын
Morning from Alaska. Unfortunately i am not well schooled on the exact differences between 9.5 and 11.5. Other than to say the vast majority of the tools i use have been available since the pre 9.5 editions of ASPIRE.

Nice job Scott! Only thing I might add is that if you make your material size closer to the size of your model, you supposedly get more pixels for better model resolution. Could maybe use individual sheets sized for your individual models and then create a separate sheet sized to combine them all. But then what do I know, lol
@scottthompson56527 ай бұрын
That's a good point . I had expanded the material size so I could type instructions right there on the left side. usually I dont do that, but in this case i just wanted to create a list that I could show in the video. But, I am always forgetting something. ..

Hi Scott, thanks for the great content! You mentioned being in Florida, do you winter in Florida, and do you stay there 6 months to get their tax structure, or is Alaska's better?
@scottthompson56527 ай бұрын
Morning Edward. Alaska’s taxes are hard to beat. No income tax, rate sales tax in some towns. And they send us a check each year. Florida is an escape from the cold n dark tax… Alaska has a brutal cold and dark tax.
