Agreed. There is a no fly list, there should also be a no cruise list. Going on vacation to start fights is ridiculous. If people can't behave, they should stay home.

I know the cruise lines push the drinks packages as a revenue stream, but then they should have a better way to deal with the results of overconsumption. What is ridiculous is all the Cruise forums on Reddit and Facebook; so many passengers want to know how to sneak MORE booze (and marijuana) onto the ship because they are worried they won’t get enough to drink!

Isn’t that all spelled out in the cruise contract/terms and conditions that everyone signs (but probably few read)? That the cruise line can change itinerary without compensation beyond refund of shore excursions? I know most offer some compensation or credit; it sounds like this cruise line was being reasonable. I feel bad for passengers missing a bucket list experience to Antarctica, but things happen, especially on adventure or more exotic trips.

Why I'm going through this right now 😢😢😢 I was going 37 mph in a 35 mph zone. With my cousin in the passenger seat. A School bus ran the Stop Sign. And hit me on the driver's side overturning my vehicle. My cousin lost a hand. I had 2 surgeries on both hands....is running a stop sign proof of gross negligence? Especially considering that a school bus is usually held to a higher standard...the school bus driver appealed it and her Charge was dismissed!

How does the family know it was consensual? They weren’t there, so it seems like they are just believing what he tells them. Considering how reticent most cruise lines are to investigate sexual assault and over to law enforcement, they must have had some evidence or reason to take it seriously.

This is important if you have been harmed due to Negulance on the part of cruise lines. My experience with the collection of Judgement and the lack of respect from the cruise ship owners regarding it is very disturbing. Filthy conditions and unsanitary staterooms causing injuries and covid at passenger pearls or fair proper compensation due to lack of passenger health and wellness must be addressed properly and fairly. Full refund or compensatory Damages.

This is a 100% Carnival and Vista issue and the individuals that should be held responsible and FIRED on the spot are the useless CHRISTINE DUFFY AND JOHN HEALD. These two wastes spaces of individuals have given all women leaders and brand representatives a bad name. I was on this same horrible Vista ship when it broke the 3rd time. Week after week this shameless liar and corporate greedy woman, Christine Duffy would send out emails one day before embarkation to all booked guests stating that the ship had JUST developed a propulsion issue and that it was being fixed by Engineers on board...She and her corporate puppet John Heald LIED and sailed the ship week after week for 9 months. As a result ports of call were cancelled or we arrived hours late resulting in all shore excursions and destination visits to be cancelled, itinerary changes, etc. This is the height of shamelessness by Carnival and specifically these corporate thugs. It is very easy to stand on the sideline and point fingers at disgruntled passengers who are calling out the TRUTH that Carnival is running a scam with this Vista ship at the cost of thousands of guests week after week. If something like this happens to you then you will realize versus judging people who are suffering due to Corporate greed. I cannot insist enough everyone people - please write emails to John Weinstein the President of Carnival Corporation to fire Christine Duffy the Present of Carnival Cruise Line and this wasted space John Heald. This is simple unacceptable! SHAME ON CARNIVAL! SHAME ON CHRISTINE DUFFY! SHAME ON JOHN HEALD!

They got the MCA certification as of late Thursday, early Friday, and that doesn’t happen until everything else is clear. As for “a place to board”, that has already been solved. This KZbinr knows just enough to gossip and rile people up. There is a lot of misinformation out there, and even checking registers online isn’t always accurate, because often it isn’t updated online to reflect the “now”. When the ship sails, THAT will be the TRUE telling, AND I’m waiting for that. The UK Coast Guard won’t let them leave unless everything IS taken care of. The fact they ARE boarding Monday and sleeping on the ship, is definite, unmistakeable progress. I can just see the naysayers still hanging onto their negative predictions as the ship returns from 3 years around the world. It’s who they are.

@gerriebell2128 as I said in my post, the information I gave on the DNV register was confirmed TODAY by a Founder (a resident who is also an investor in the company and is privy to a greater amount of information than the average resident) so it is both accurate and up to date. All the information in my post is verified though it does seem as if you prefer to ignore inconvenient information so you can stridently support the company regardless. Will they sail? Most likely. Just probably not 9/30 as they are hoping. Will they survive long term or intermediate term? Probably not, but anything can happen so we shall see but it is a verrrrry looong and deeep financial and reputational hole they need to dig themselves out of and even then they will still have an old ship with high maintenance costs that cannot visit some of the most desirable ports although they have listed them on their itinerary.

Actually they don't really have the ALL clear. They have the kinda/sorta clear. According to the DNV register (an agency which inspects and certifies ships) the PSSC (Passenger Ship Safety Certificate) was issued VERY temporarily until 10/1/24 as were a few of the other certifications and others expire on Christmas this year. The issues have to be cleared BEFORE sailing. As an aside the company actually sent out an email to their prospective passenger email list on 9/23 saying they had the PSSC certificate (technically true for 1 week at that time, but yes a bit misleading). "The Condition of class issue (ie the problem) per DNV register is "before leaving port GMDSS battery capacity to be confirmed & radio station license to be reissued ".The shorter period (until Christmas) for the SMC, ISPS and MLC certificates is normal for a start up, but it means they need to do another audit within 6 months to get the full term SMC and ISPS. The question will be which port will they go to to get the audit, how long will it take , will other repairs be needed to get it, can the passengers stay onboard as this happens? (I don't know the answers). It is true many passengers think they have the all clear and it does appear they will board (not depart) Monday 9/30. Though I am a wee bit surprised that their insurance company is allowing that when the passenger safety certificate expires the next day (unless the issue is cleared before then and one assumes possibly rechecked). One of the vlogging couples, the Exceedingly Positive couple, was quite busy deleting the inconvenient truth of this condition of class issue in the comments section, but a Founder in a post admitted that 2 condition of class issues have to be cleared which matches the above.

Since the insurance company was supposedly not allowing them to sleep onboard until they had the PSSC, I'm a little surprised they are allowing them to with a temporary certificate expiring very soon. But maybe they intend to have outstanding issues resolved before then.

@@RetiredZGrt of course they do! They just got MCA certification and that doesn’t happen unless they have everything else they need. People think they were caught off guard by the bankruptcy of H&W- no, they knew about it long before the public did and made other arrangements for boarding & departure. They scheduled the MSC inspection at LEAST two weeks in advance. Things have gone wrong, but it wasn’t due to complete lack of preparation.

They are going first to Brest France then to Bilbao Spain and onwards with several other stops until they arrive in Nassau Bahamas 10/28 or after depending on when they actually depart. The question is, do they have any reservations at those ports since they are very near term? They should have been in Nassau 10/1 for the start of Segment 3 and to pick up passengers who should have boarded in Miami but the entire US East Coast was cancelled when they didn't get the certification ($$$ and very strict) to allow them to use US ports. They also didn't get the FMC bond (protecting passengers' payments) to allow passengers to embark and disembark in the US as planned.

@@RetiredZGrt all of that can be taken care of as they go. They aren’t entirely stupid. It made perfect sense to focus on the certification at hand for the “first” departure. Then they can do paperwork en route and have inspections when they arrive. How do you think cruise companies handle all the various certifications they must have? I doubt that it’s all at once. Some of the planning for those things is managed according to “cash flow” I’m sure.
