2023 Attempts 147, Completions 278, Greene would need 28 more completions or 2.3 per game

What has happened is the illegal activity of the blue blood schools has now become legal for all schools. Paying athletes money and giving them other things has been going on for decades. It is just nobody had the stones to report it. Some teams like Ohio State would get caught but now it is legal to do this.

Penn st does need wrs but cephas was pretty highly ranked in transfer portal in 2023 so not sure your argument just he didn't work out is all. They also had Dotson and Parker Washington so not like they totally busted. Got fleming former 5 star this year. And looks like a few 4 star wrs for 2025. Last year WR play was bad had issues getting open and way too many drops. But allar first year as starter 25 td to 2 picks and let's be honest play calling by Yurchich was atrocious.

Penn state got a gift to play WVU at noon . That’s cute considering that we had to go there week one at night with a team whose backs were against the wall. Every WVU fan stand up ! Penn state needs a rude awakening when they show up in Morgantown . Got my fingers crossed . 😊

@@brettk9316 I don’t get it Penn state on the road beats WVU worse than they did last year lol? I think noon game fox , Penn state thinks in their mind this will be easy and WVU in their minds think they are being disrespected and WVU comes out and plays well and has the crowd behind them but talent takes over and psu wins in the 4th quarter 21-17

Correct me if I’m wrong, but WVU lead the B12 in sacks last year. Yes Bartlett only had 4.5, but WVU had 9 players with multiple sacks. 5 out of those 9 are gone, but not included in that 9 are Lathan, Martin, and Burks, who I expect to takeover what Floyd did last year. Add French into the mix and I expect sacks to be even higher this year. Sacks are a positive for this defense, not a negative.

You cant deny WVU's schedule is one of the more tougher schedules out of all the BIG12, I would even say a top 12-15 SoS in P4. We play every top projected BIG12 team except Utah. The ONLY positive is we get 3 of the stretch of 5 at home. Because our schedule is brutal, we could very well be much better than last year, but still end the season with 9 wins. I dont see why or how you dont think our conference schedule is tough, literally every BIG12 podcasts Im seeing is talking about it or has at some point. I dont think thats a homer perspective, I mean, compare it against Utah's conference schedule. Even with a brutal conference schedule, WVU has the talent, skillsets, & experience to play in Dallas. It will depend on: 1. Remaining Healthy on both sides of the ball 2. Remaining Healthy on both sides of the ball 3. Remaining Healthy on both sides of the ball 4. Improved Passing game efficiency+consistency+accuracy for a more balanced attack. As we will absolutely be in a few shootouts this year and we'll need to be able to put more points on the board in a few of them in order to win. Esp @ Arizona & @ OkieSt. I know they usually say a good Defense will travel well, and thats what good defensive teams like to rely on the road, but something tells me those two games will require another 10-14 points above this upcoming year's average to win. 5. Our defense plays a >= how they did during & before the TCU game of last year. How will these new DBs pan out, How will our younger, but very talented LB core perform. 6. Our Running game is even more dominant again with an actual fully healthy CJ & an improved J White, an experienced OL, GG, & fantastic team speed, which can maintain superior ToP in most of the games we can win in the typical Neal Brown conservative manner. Maintaining superior ToP will take pressure off our defense, reduce their reps, and play a role in slowing the game down, which could very well help us remain healthy during these tough stretches in our schedule. 7. We get a few lucky bounces go our way..... ie no hail mary losses. 8. Remaining Healthy on both sides of the ball

As a life long MVC fan and follower DeVries can become a good/great coach for WV. He’s a great offensive coach that runs a five man offense that can score. His question is truly defensive but being a mid major finding great athletes to play defense consistently is tougher than finding high IQ offensive players. I would think he’ll now be able to find better athletes that also have basketball IQ being in the Big 12. Tucker DeVries is a very good player that should be a big sf in my opinion with a stretch or athletic 4 and true center. In the MVC he had to play as 4. I think Conor Enright (2 yrs left) can and will probably be a good transfer to follow from Drake. He’s undersized but has a high IQ, heart and efficiency. He will surprise you and become the guy you cheer for more than Tucker.

I don’t know that it can be fixed. You take a look at WVUs tourney runs and I mean deep tourney runs, it was because of great shooting no so great D and then great D but subpar shooting. I really can’t remember a time when WVU was equal or close to equal on both sides. Now with NIL it just makes it even harder to be. Same way with the football team. WVU in my opinion had never had a true balance on either side of the ball in those 2 spots with the exception of maybe the football team that lost to Pitt that lost them a shot at the BCS and the year Butler went down for the Basketball team. Im a big lover of WVU, but its hard to get “guys” to come here. The somewhat winning formula here is let’s get what we can get and play to that strength. The issue now is you don’t know what you’re going to get year to year with the NIL and portal rules. Whereas in years past you found something that worked and can run with it for the next few years. Again with NIL and rule changes just not really that feasible for these type of programs. Im not saying every once in a while a magical season can’t happen. But I think those years of Press Virginia, and 3’s galore are gone, just as those years of Pat, Steve, Owen and Tavon are. Sustainability without the fear of putting yourself out there limits the heights you can achieve.

Terrible luck this season. Injuries, health issues, suspension, transfer denials. Regarding a coach they are in the best basketball conference in the country. Great facilities, etc, etc. It's an attractive job. Wren is still in a tough place. Huggins is hanging over this program like bad dream. Go with a proven winner and give him a free hand including staff. Winning cures all ills.

The headlines in the sports' section of newspapers and social media outlets throughout WV exclaim Mistakes Doom WVU in Ames. I agree. Unfortunately, when you commit 21 turnovers this late in the season, it is inexcusable. This talented team was out of sync today in executing fundamentals. WVU was the underdog by nearly 20 points to the #6 ISU Cyclones. What a surprise to lose only by single digits! But for all those mistakes, WVU may have pulled quite an upset on the road. Will it continue in Manhattan, KS?

Maybe WVU had a great team prior to the mishap of Wren Baker accepting Bob Huggins Retirement email.... WVU can compete at this level but it's going to take a little bit more out of WVU's head people of thinking outside of their butts... WVU needs better infrastructure for their head coaches...

It's funny how the Colts were trying to run the clock out at 27-13, and Mike Tomlin calls a Timeout. So, the Colts score anyway. As far as firing Mike Tomlin, I think it would be better to trade him so that we get something for the 17 years of service. I agree with you that it is time.

Obviously, you didn't see OU beat Texas, and the goal line stand in that game. Oklahoma's defense is much improved and will continue to improve, and Oklahoma will be more than a middle of the road team in the SEC from the beginning of next year. West Virginia has a very good offense line and a very big, talented running back, but ran up against an Oklahoma team that played the first complete game that they have played this season.

Before the season started I predicted a record of 8-4 or 9-3 and people thought I was insane but Neal needs to open up the play book more and utilize all of the talent that's on the team, if you continue to use the same people throughout the year you're gonna become very predictable. Right now they're barely getting by with these wins and pretty soon you're gonna have to do more down the stretch to continue getting W's.

The struggles on 3rd down conversions are a big issues that hasn't cost us a game yet but...last game 3-13 on 3rd downs and the past 3 games will cost us a game on down the road...Glad to be 4-1 but the same issues the last couple of years...low 3rd down conversions....dropped pass's and dropping INT's which they had 3 they should have had and didn't git all adds up to a loss if we don't fix these issues.

What Neal is doing with his team is the rough equivalent to college basketball a few years ago before they came out with the shot clock where you would have a few teams that would pass the ball 30 times before they would take a shot and they would win games against better teams like 50 to 46.

Even the blind squirrel finds the acorn once in a while. It appears that after four seasons of learning on the job at WVU’s expense, perhaps Neal Brown has figured out how to win at the power five level? I truly hope so. It’s the ugliest football I have ever watched in my life and it requires the Defense to play a sparkling game each and every game but it seems to be working. Basically hand off the football three out of four plays for a run, eliminate mistakes, and stay disciplined.
