Great video mate! I was watching your video on the z3 hydro fan, today I was charging the hydro fluid on my Z1 36 and noticed one of the fans is broken. I have no idea how to remove the hydro to place the fan , tips on how to.

One note .......it's not a carter key .it's a cotter pin . Good video ,now I have to fix my studs
@dustinw.2608 Жыл бұрын
That T40 bolt is a "Torx", not a "hex" bolt. Hence the T in T40 for Torx. If it were a hex headed fastener, it would have six sides on the fastener hole in a hexagonal shape, hence "hex" head.
@dustinw.2608 Жыл бұрын
Also called an "Allen" head/key, they're the same thing. Just hexagonally driven fasteners. The name Allen just comes from The Allen Manufacturing Co. in the early 1900's making their own brand of hex key and calling it, you guessed it, the "Allen wrench".

Never do it this way. You will blow out the resr seal. You should rotate the wheels while greasing with a hand pump only.

Do you know the lug pattern of that hub and how do you know which one to replace it with when you go replace the brake hub? How do I find out the size of the axle or the drum. The ones I have on my trailer say 3700 and then 63909 but have a weird lug pattern. 5x4 or 5x100… 🤷🏿♂️

I took the lug to the auto parts store and they matched it up, my is a 5 bolt pattern

Look up over-greasing bearings. It shortens the life when adding too much.
@kasken719 Жыл бұрын
That's if your packing a bearing. These with zerk fittings are made so you can push out the old grease until you see fresh grease. Takes about a tube per wheel.
@drgummibear4396 Жыл бұрын
Bad idea. You will blow out the rear seal, then grease will get into the brake assembly, rendering it useless.
@houndsmanone45632 жыл бұрын
Great how-to video. I'd recommend you replace the cotter pin (not carter pin). I have a hommade trailer with elongated lug studs which have about a 1/4" lip that is not threaded until you get past the initial 1/4" of stud. Then there are threads which the nut fastens to. That elongated non-threaded portion of the stud poses a problem when attempting to put the nut back on. I think the fabricator used old truck axels which don't have flat-faced stud ends. Thanks for the well thought-out video. I wish you success in your lawncare business. 👍🏽🤠 10/20/22

You should really address the thinning of the studs. You either have the wrong nuts , or not fighting the nut probably or this is made in non-USA studs ( i.e made in china ) where the metal is weaker and will distort

What size studs are those? Do you have a link for where you purchased them?
@AcmeRacing2 жыл бұрын
They'd be 1/2" 20 threads per inch. I just replaced one bad stud on my trailer. He's mostly doing things right, but always, ALWAYS, use a new cotter pin. They're pennies and they're holding your hub together.
