@@senbm4095 it was fortuitous. Even if Carlos yulo trained in pinas, he would be like the rest of his teammates. A great deal of munehiro kugimiya came into play even an ordinary dragulescu becomes extraordinary. I agree with you

Japanese training and discipline is very good. Thank you Kugiyama San for helping and teaching Carlos Yulo. If Carlos didn’t have a training in Japan, he cannot get a gold medal. This is the truth I can say.

Without coach Kugimiya, Carlos won’t be a world class gymnast. He taught him more than gymnastics. Discipline , determination and the will to improve to succeed. A great teacher.

definitely. a super great sensei. remember most of caloy's accommodations in the early years was kugimiya's apartment , that was a great open door treating him as family. I really admire the man. he could have easily asked the GAP chair carreon 'go find an apartment', but did not. very commendable indeed

I could say Kugimiya is the best coach. He did not only train Carlos on the technical side but he dealt the weakness of Carlos. building his confidence and mental ability to to the difficult technique. He is a great coach.

Heard in an interview with Yulo that a lawsuit was filed against him by a Japanese entity. If it’s not over yet, hopefully they end this feud with an amicable settlement. It was beautiful to see how the Japanese couch helped Yulo, it was a very fruitful partnership.
