TV was full of TOS reruns at that point. And by the time breaking bad takes place it would've resurged a bit as the HD remasters were new and the j j abrams movie had been announced

Mostly agree. I always found it slightly odd that Badger and Skinny Pete would be so well-versed in TOS. It's not implausible, but slightly less plausible than if they were TNG nerds. Another thing is when Badger talks about wanting to blast Sabbath on Jesse's new stereo. Again, not implausible, but I think we're just seeing the tastes of the older gen writers bleed through the younger gen characters.

this song is actually unironically awesome. like, this is something i would actually listen to for real. it took my favorite parts of both songs and did away with the stuff i don't like. i appreciate the lyrics in WAP (even though they're trashy and vulgar, but i like a little bit of trash) but i'm not a fan of the non-music beat. i love the instrumental of closer (and you honestly perfected it by speeding it up a bit, because i always though it dragged a little bit) but i'm not really a fan of the lyrics (it feels too "sexy serial killer-ish" to me) like, if you sold this song, i would buy it, and i don't really buy music unless it's worth buying (like there's no good versions online available for free. you either stream it and get a shit ton of ads, or you listen to a bootleg on KZbin that sounds like it's being played through a blown out speaker, and is usually pitched-shifted to avoid getting copyright claimed, making it sound even worse) i really hope you keep making these songs, because they slap so hard.
