I keep getting to the opening screen and it says “successfully loaded VIP file VIP1 from memory card (PS2) in slot 1” it’s been popping up twice, I click past the first one but it doesn’t let me click past the second time it pops up. Any fix?

You need the original disc to make an ISO. Then you have to apply the patch to create an updated ISO with the new files.

I wonder if this can be on apple as Apple is getting close on releasing a ps2 emulator and I want to play ESPN nfl 2k5 with updated rosters on my iPad

If the same emulator is released on Apple, then it should work. I'm currently working on testing a version with Android and have had some success getting it running. But I'm pretty sure the Android emulator is using the same base, just a different version so the options are different.

You can copy the entire working folder to the Steam Deck. Then add the exe to Steam using the add to library function. Then go back to Steam OS and set the exe to launch with proton. I think I'm using Proton-GE at this point.

The mod program is a windows program. So you may need to run the program there first to generate the texture files. Then you can copy them to Mac and they should work in PCSX2. You can also try running the program on Wine or something to see if that generates the textures.

I don't think this works with NFL 2k5. If I copy the textures into the texture folder on my Steam Deck I can get it to load the player pictures, Xbox buttons, new helmets in the team select menu, etc. just fine. But as soon as the game loads up the uniforms, field art, and even the referee outfits all flicker. If I have Vegas as the home team, for example, it just loads a generic create-a-team stadium with a purple logo and purple endzone art that flickers to the correct Raiders art whenever the camera is near it. At other stadiums it just flickers back and forth between the old 2k5 endzone art and the updated art from the mod. I confirmed this isn't a Linux issue as the same thing happens on my Windows gaming PC if I try to move the textures over from the PCSX2 install packed in with the mod over to the install I use with my regular PCSX2 setup for other Ps2 games. From what I can tell the textures, for whatever reason, only work with the included version of PCSX2 unless there's some sort of setting I'm missing. Not a big deal on Windows as I can just make a separate shortcut in Steam to launch it with my controller but it means it's pretty much unusable on the Deck without dual booting Windows.

What happens if you run the mod exe? That should generate the missing textures based on the settings you select. It sounds like you are just missing the textures.

If you set everything up on Windows, you should be able to copy the files to Android if you are using the PCSX2 emulator there. I don't have a device to test on to be 100% sure though.

Look for the memcards folder. You might need to copy the files into that folder and select them in the emulator settings.

They have a tutorial to get it running on the Series S/X but I believe you need dev mode to run an emulator.
