how would you go about asking for a pay rise? ive been at my company for over a year and ive been trying to think of different ways i can go about asking for said pay rise.
@Dollar_Discipline6 күн бұрын
Think about ways you can either make the company more revenue, save the company more money, or find a process that sucks that you can be responsible for and improve it. Basically I always asked myself what the role above me would be doing, and find ways to do some of those tasks. In my experience, I got the promotion AFTER I was doing the job first to prove my worth. OR you could just ask your boss about what a growth plan would look like (come to the convo with some ideas yourself). If the company isn’t willing to put you on a growth path it’s time to go

@ thank you very much for the response, i feel ive shown sufficient initiative from being a new employee to the second most valuable on the factory floor in just 1 year, learning everything i could. i dont think im valued as much as i should be. i think ill instigate a conversation with my manager about a said growth plan and how i can be more valuable to the company and depending on the response, ill keep working hard for a decent wage or look for a new job. thanks heaps!

Dividends are good 👍🏻 They just take a lot of time and money to develop into anything significant, and I don’t want people to think dividends are going to save them now from living paycheck to paycheck (I’ve worked with a couple people who had this mindset)

It all comes down to self discipline. I've had credit card debt for the past few years, and it all came down to me paying something off with the card, and instead of paying it off immediately, I would just have the mentality of "well no I can buy more stuff with what I have in my checking account." Thankfully I don't have that mindset anymore, and will be using them in a way more responsible manner. 😅
