I disagree Black men do the asking and there is a class of educated Black Woman who never married and refused to have children out of wedlock. Highly educated Black men choose to over look their counterparts the women. I think there is some truth but it is easy to blame the women and say we lack the ability to support our men when ivy league educated black men say they married white women because they didn’t want the pressure to achieve that marriage to a black woman would place upon them. Great conversation hope you attend. He explains to white women black women are the problem this was a sale transaction

I can see your point. There are certainly highly educated black men who choose to over look their counterparts, for sure. Do you think he was blaming black women? Or something different? Maybe pointing out certain issues? You agreed with some of it, which parts did you agree with?

Thank you for this discussion. The statistics and truths about the current condition of the Black American family is something that we have all wondered and worried about. I sensed a leaning towards the failure of Black women in this discussion and that is a little heartbreaking..white supremacy has decimated everything that Black men and women are, we are acting and reacting generations into this and the culmination of that is what we are witnessing..Black men do seem to have the option of leaving Black women behind to marry women of other ethnicities but this is not a failing of Black women to be all that Black men need..I believe that it’s instead the truth that of all women, the phenotype represented by Black women in the world is least desired. Nobody is checking for Black women for the most part it seems to me. From a very early age we understand that we do not fit the ideal in a society that is obsessed with physical beauty as represented by White people..Black masculinity often presents the desirous traits of strength and protection that women might desire..However Black women have been loaded down like pack mules with the weight of carrying so much and the desirous feminine traits are lost and hidden, waiting to be revealed if by chance someone would come along and not just share the load but take it completely..We are Sojourner Truth in her having to proclaim her truth of being as deserving of protection, care and love that is invisible because of the society that we live in..I’ve been married for 37 years to a wonderful Black man and so this is not about my own situation..but I see this..Black women don’t often have the option to choose outside of Black men and no she does not want to be a single mother, or even more highly educated than other groups..but where is our crown kings? She wants to be chosen..but she has been denigrated and is constantly fighting for validation.

Black women don't build, men do. So if you want a growing, prospering black community, the lionshare of the economic investment must going into the boys. When the boys succeed, the women will have husbands/leaders to marry...
