I remember being touched by Purple when I saw it many, many years ago. Seeing this interview with John Akomfrah and scenes from the film almost brings me to tears, reminding me of the deep emotion I felt about our environment, planet, and the human population's relationship to our world. I'm not sure why, but this piece really make me feel like I should be doing something different with my life. It is truly that moving and touches something deeply essential about being alive on a complex environmental planet being transformed by industrialization over the last two centuries.

A very strong exhibit at the ICA. I visited several times, a couple of times with a group and we all agreed that Yu-Wen Wu's work need (and deserved) a larger space. Good work, best of luck in the future.

Wow! So no Black women curators on this panel to talk about Simone's works since she couldn't be there? For me (as a Black woman artist) this was more of a generic "book report" from the perspective of white women. More of the same ole same ole... Just sayin...

I had the great fortune to view this artwork during my visit in summer of 2019, as a visitor from Sweden. Truly one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen, and honestly life-changing. I mean, I still think about it, four years later, enough to search it on youtube. Thank you for the amazing exhibit that honestly blew me away!

I love these! So much power and dignity in each of them. The way the artist uses paint in a sculptural way feels fresh and exciting! ❤❤❤

Lawson inspired me to find a voice in photography. Being a complete amateur of the craft, I fell in love with the exhibition here in Atlanta after seeing it a few weeks ago. I could not take my eyes off the photos in the museum. Being an African American female who is also a twin like Lawson, I feel her work spoke to me to use my eye for detail in this way. If I could let her know myself that I was moved from deep within by her work, it would be a day of glory. She is the answer to the unspoken world of black life. Thank you D. Lawson. Carter

If you’re ever in New York City, Nicks mosaic murals are amazing! They were incorporated in the new addition bridging Bryant Park and Times Square subway stations into a hub and converging multiple train lines for easier access. His work spans at least 3 separate walls. I had no idea who Nick Cave was, and came across these mosaics by accident. Blew my mind. Had to know more about him.

This was beautiful! After reading comments below that are negative....I am reminded how much I detest the snobbery and judgmentalness of some who think they are true artists and know everything. Being an artist means seeing the beauty in most all things...and when you for some reason can't find it....why not just stay silent!
