I was at lowes today and they have 2x4 porcelain flooring pieces for $38. I was trying to figure out how to get around the sharp edges for using it as a countertop. This video answered that question. Thanks for the excellent video.

511 Seal & Enhance... Have you ever used this on light to white carrara (honed) marble? Restoration Hardware recommends the (MORE) brand sealer, hard to find if you don't like Amazon. I almost used 511 Impregnator Sealer think it was the best, but the Home Depot 1 star reviews have people running from it, stating it ruined (stained yellow, streaks) their light colored marble counter tops and the 1 star for Seal & Enhance are just as bad!? I have had no issues with DuPont Granite & Marble Sealer (Teflon) on my RH vanity, which I last applied in 2019. This time around I'm trying Lundmark Marble Restore, as seen on HouseSmarts TV here on KZbin.

I wouldn't bother sealing honed marble. I don't think it will do anything for a surface that's intentionally finished to open all the pores in the marble. I would just do like the French do and let it create its own patina over time. Just my two cents... All the best, Renee

This high priced iron leaks water all over your clothes. Apparently they went cheap on their sealant and it leaks water so badly that it can;t be used for steam because your clothes will be covered in water. Who wants to buy and store more than one iron? At their price, buy another brand that won't leak and will work for everything
@ReneeRomeo
@ReneeRomeo 27 күн бұрын
I think you're not allowing the iron enough time to come up to steaming temperature. Otherwise, contact Rowenta directly and and let them know what's going on with yours. All the best, Renee

Why didn’t you seal the grout after painting? Wouldn’t that extend the life of the painted grout?
@DebraPelosi

Hi Renee, I getting ready to paint my grout in my kitchen and love your video and how explicit your instructions are. I’ve watched several other videos both of which sealed the grout after painting. Why didn’t you seal yours?
@ReneeRomeo
@ReneeRomeo 27 күн бұрын
Excellent question! Because it's floor paint, it already has a sealer built-in. It acts more like a coating than a product that soaks in to the grout. One stop shopping. I hope this helps! Renee

Hi Renee, I just watched this, good video, so could you expand on how to remove the grout?😬 Our shower corners and odd spots have many places that have the mold that WILL NOT bleach out, we built our home in 1998! Interesting to learn the why it is molding I'd say 97% of the shower is still lovely white grout😊 The tool you mentioned...I cannot find🤔 Plus once it is out, how do you go about getting it into the corners without too much excess? Thanks! Appreciate your video😉 Brenda
@ReneeRomeo
@ReneeRomeo 27 күн бұрын
Hi Brenda, Go to your local big box store and ask for the grout removal tool that they carry. It's a little wheel attached to a handle. Fortunately, you don't have to do your entire shower! The grout float tool has a very sharp corner or a rounded corner (depending upon the look you want. Look for a sharp corner grout float and you'll be in business. No excess buildup. Best wishes on finding these two great tools. Renee

I think you need to go back and start from the middle of the discs. You may not be spending enough time on the sanding process. It's fast but not lightening fast. Mine is beautiful and glossy. Renee

Well, it was just an unnecessary precaution. Water never gets on the brick. I was thinking that if there were backsplash during storms, this would help the brick to not get deluged. It turns out, it wasn't needed. The patio is still dry as a bone. Too bad you didn't watch until the end. Renee

I’m working on a board mounted valance gif my kitchen. How do I get the sides to hang straight
@ReneeRomeo
@ReneeRomeo 2 ай бұрын
Drapery weights work great (sewn to the inside of the sides) but if your fabric is heavy, you can make "legs" for the sides. The legs (using the same fabric-covered wood as the top and attached with screws to the top) come down the sides and end just short of the bottom sides. You can then hot glue the sides in place and they will never move. Also, look up Tenter hooks. They attach drapery panels to the wall so that light doesn't come in. You'll need to sew rings to the back side of the sides and hook them to the Tenter hooks. So, there are 3 ways to deal with your issue. Best wishes, Renee

Hey, love diy on the inexpensive! Do you have a follow up ‘rain’ video, any leaks, is it still holding up? Thanks!
@ReneeRomeo
@ReneeRomeo 4 ай бұрын
I don't have a follow up but the "roof" is just fine after these few years. I don't have any trees near it so there's no chance of debris getting in and causing a dam. That's my number one question. It's such a nice, dry space - we're out there all the time. Success! Thanks for asking, Renee

Why cut up a huge piece of plyboard when you could just use a 1" x 4" board (one short cut with a saw)
@ReneeRomeo
@ReneeRomeo 5 ай бұрын
That's an excellent question!! Plywood doesn't warp like a 1 x 4 could. It will remain as straight as the day you install it. 1 x 4's tend to twist and bend as they dry over time. That's why pros only use plywood. Thanks for bringing up this great point! All the best, Renee
