After the war end was announced was is customary for the German soldier to surrender to the allies or he could directly just go to his house/family

Without emotions. It is really sad that the Germans were not happy with the end of World War II when other nations (maybe aside from the Japanese) rejoiced and cheered. Why? Because the Allies severely beat the German national mentality. Germany was deprived of the ability to aggressively dominate and murder other nations. That is why it is difficult to imagine the joy of the Germans at winning the war. Who in the world would be happy with them? It is against logic. 🤔

Ein Opa hat Stalingrad überlebt, er wurde ausgeflogen, der andere hat es nicht geschafft, er ist irgendwo in der Ägäis, als Besatzungsmitglied eines UBoots mit untergegangen. Leider weiß ich, wir , bis heute nicht, die Nummer des Bootes.
