Very, very beautiful! Well done. I’ve attempted to draw and paint beetles but mostly I draw them and get too much detail and then can’t paint them so they sit untouched.

Absolutely beautiful and amazing work! Can well imagine it took 12 hours w/hair dryer assist. The video does show that u didn't sit there to paint for that entire time. How long do u sit to paint something like this. Do u get up every 20 mins. or so to rest ur hand ,etc? You are amazing! Thank you sooo much for this video😊

Thank you! I can sit for 4 to 6 hours with a small break in between. It's not my hand that's tired, it's usually my eyes from seeing the same thing for hours :)

Cann you do a chameleon? They have weird scales that are extremely difficult to draw for some reason. Ive got some professional grade photos of my brats you can have as a reference if you want.

Hi Evgeniia, I'm still loving this video although I'm having a little trouble following what you are doing with the masking fluid. You are applying it in little dots of varying sizes, drying it and then painting over it? It looks like you peeled some off of the larger scales at one point but it's hard to tell. Would you mind clarifying that so that I can start my own painting? Thanks so much!!!
@EvgeniiaBychinaArtАй бұрын
Hi! Thank you for watching and trying this tutorial. Yes, I painted my first layer of watercolors (blue layer) and once it was completely dry, I used my masking fluid in dots of varying sizes, as you suggested. Some scales are bigger (on the jaw), and some are smaller (under the jaw). It doesn't have to be perfect! I let them dry thoroughly because I don't want to remove some of the fluid by accident. I didn't put the fluid on all the scales, though; some big ones don't need it as I can easily paint around them, while painting around small ones is VERY time-consuming! At 6:36, I peeled off the scales on the head, but then added more fluid to the iguana's neck. You can try to apply the fluid at different stages while you paint; just make sure you use good-quality watercolor paper! Hope it helps 😊

When I go to the web page there is only the outline for 1 beetle there. Am I doing something wrong?
@EvgeniiaBychinaArt2 ай бұрын
Hello! There is one tutorial with a colorful beetle and another one with four beetles. When you go to the web page, there are thumbnails for different videos and if you scroll down, you’ll find the thumbnail with four beetles. There, you’ll be able to get all the outlines. Hope it helps! ☺️

I have to say this is a beautiful piece and a good lesson. Unfortunately, I can’t listen to it because the music goes on and off and is very distracting. And it’s very sleepy music. I would love to see more of your work and to listen to your words without the music. Music choices are as subjective as our choices of art teachers. I know it’s a trend to have music with your lessons, but if you want a great following, I suggest you leave the music off. You are a good teacher, without music.

Can't wait to give this a go! I'm a beginner and have been practicing for a bit. Do you wait for one part to completely dry before painting right next to it? And when you remove the paint with the flat brush, is the brush a bit damp?
@EvgeniiaBychinaArt7 ай бұрын
Hello! I'm glad you you enjoyed the video, I'd love to see your result if you follow this tutorial. Yes, I leave it to dry if I want to paint next to the part I was painting (sometimes I gently use my hair dryer to spped up the process!). And yes, I do use a slightly damp brush without any excess water on it to remove the paint.
