If you don't want that stitching you can take your two long pieces and stitch all the way around leaving small opening on the side .turn right side out and stitch closed by hand.

thanks for this, it’s exactly what i was looking for! i’m an artist and i’ve done a bit of work posting alt texts and i definitely needed some outside perspective on how to approach it. it’s cool to know that putting my own creative spin is appreciated, i was wary of taking that approach cuz i felt like it would be prioritizing my wants over the needs of people i wanted to provide this for

I think official stuff is better, punks used wheat paste because the official stuff was too expensive, now it is much more affordable. And I read somewhere that you can add bleach against rot when using wheat and sugar

Cute idea but what do you do about washing the garment when it has metal work on it? Don't you have to remove it all first so it doesn't rust? Thanks
@YouMediaChicago
@YouMediaChicago 11 ай бұрын
It really depends on the embellishment you've added. One possibility is to take it to a dry cleaner or professional cleaner and ask if they can clean the garment without harming the embellishment. Another is to spot clean the worst areas (usually armpits, neckline, wrist/foot areas, etc) by hand. You could dilute some detergent and scrub areas of needed. Some costume designers will use diluted vinegar or alcohol/vodka sprays to deodorize costumes without washing them. You'll definitely want to spot test on an inconspicuous area first, to make sure there isn't color bleeding.
