Hello my man. I've been facing some knee pain recently and already have been to a PT and got enlighted that I'm facing some meniscus injury. What do you do or don't do to keep your knees healthy?
@carpetgymolylifting4 ай бұрын
Do your best to have as much flexibility in your ankles and hips as possible and it shouldnt really be much of an issue... I recommend a 5minute deep squat hold with no weight and use something to hold on to if you need And single leg long lunges and using all your efforts into stretching your ankles... Sled pulls and pushes help alot as well Those are some thungs that could help but its hard to see your issue over technology of coarse
@hobostrength47374 ай бұрын
ah dude that's rough news. I had a quad tendon strain that kept me from lifting for 9 months a few years back. Most important principles I followed to rehab back to where I was before I got injured are: 1. Focus on the longest timeline possible. Life isn't over yet. 2. Once you're rehabilitated, think of your body as a complete unit, and train every attribute from every angle. Variety and gradual training keep me relatively uninjured. 3. To get back to baseline, trust that your body will heal on its own if you don't push it too hard. Sometimes less is more, and "active recovery" only translates into more fatigue and damage to heal. 4. As you're going through the process of SLOWLY building your training back up, pretend you're a newborn baby. It's not your fault you're weak at the moment, and you'll get stronger over time. Don't flagellate yourself psychologically thinking "Ah man I should be stronger by now" or "This is so stupid, how could I let this happen". Forgive yourself, learn for the future, and don't let it scare you into never training hard again. There is a time and a place for everything. 5. Rest more than you think you need. So many people focus 100% on training that they forget to rest proportionately. And I mean sleep 12hrs, eat 500 cal more than you usually do, and don't feel bad for being a couch potato. I hope you recover as fast as possible man. Rest hard, train gradually, and just remember, you've got years and years ahead of you. There is no rush.

As far as specific movements I do, it's mostly just moving each joint individually in circles (wrists, hips shoulders, ankles, spine) and thinking about developing mobility and speed before strength. Make the light weights over long distances, and the medium weights fast. Olympic weightlifting + powerlifting gives me enough variety that I feel pretty prepared for most other movements. Some light stretching and accessories as I feel, fills in the rest of the gaps in my training.

These are pretty good! I’ll try to give an actual helpful comment, unlike the other one here. As a personal trainer, and one that coaches olympic lifts, it seems you’re “looking through the window” too much. Head is going to far forward through the shoulders in the top, and it leaves the bar behind you instead of above!
@DeviousHabie4 ай бұрын
Yeah like his second/higher weight attempt looked better than the first right ?

@@DeviousHabie Yea, neither were perfect in regards to my comment, but definitely less forward on the heavier weight.

Interesting feedback. Id have to see a demo to know exactly what you mean. Out of curiousity, what's your best snatch, and best squat?
@Crunch.Coach.D4 ай бұрын
@@hobostrength4737 Yea!! At my current 140lb BW, my best clean is 205, squat 265, snatch only 135 (easily my least proficient out of any olympic lift). I have some major hip/ankle limitations that make overhead squat really tough right now, but as i’m improving mobility my snatch is starting to feel better
