Total newbie here. Played the crap outta DD1 and I pre-ordered the PS5 version of DD2. Will this guide be applicable or has the game changed significantly since this video was made?

The game has changed significantly, but the guide is still pretty relevant as far as basic mechanics and combat goes. However I am currently working on updated guides to drop along with the console release and I'm sure other creators are as well.

DD2 a literally RNG based on this stupid mechanic. Get RNG giving you 2 good relationships and it is GG. Give you a couple of bad ones and you may as well quit.

Only a couple bad relations won't kill most runs, outside of beacon. It's also pretty easy to force positives nowadays, though you need unlocks which is the only part I dislike

8:15 A certain horny root vegetable has not tried tick with almanac gaming. If you manage to form the almanac Voltron, you get 15% more ATK, 10% more hp and 2 more speed in the mountain. Couple this with the blood to melt BB confession bosses. You can even earn The Blood in the mountain.

i just want to say you are my top 3 favourite youtubers good sir randy p, i watch all your videos and live recordings. the mix just being yourself unhinged or sometimes thoughtful but always making above intelligent plays and plans on average is just gold standard entertainment for me.

Seems like DD2 went through a LOT more changes in basic gameplay than DD1 did. Guess it should have spent more time in EA?

I didn't play DD1 until after full release but based off what I've seen it went through just as much, maybe more.

24:54 I'm not sure if you're joking or not but Poet Leper has been an effective tank in a grand slam team I'm running (currently at Focus Fault). I don't use Purge at all and use Intimidate to keep a perma taunt (except when an enemy can be removed) Ps: team has neither MAA nor Plague Doctor

Poet is ok, just really annoying to open double blinded and not getting full intimidate value, just naked taunts. Also just much worse than MAA, and Carcass offers some block generation and stress healing(and DOT scaling for bosses).

@@randypotato I view the Weak token from Intimidate as a bonus, mostly because enemies could simply resist it. Unlike Retribution, Intimidate let's you taunt every turn - which makes Poet especially strong against Levi. MAA is by far the strongest hero in the game (followed by Surgeon or Alchemist PD and Ravager Hellion) so a comparison with Leper is a bit unfair.

You could say whatever you want about the very unlucky fight vs Librarian, but Dismas was just a chad in that fight, you did 7 attacks with him, of those 7 attacks you got 5 Max roll Pistol Shot, 1 Pistol Shot crit and even in the Double Tap you got another High roll, basically he suck the luck of everyone in that fight.

Especially Chaplain. You have to work really hard to get the tokens e.g guard a hero with taunt. Otherwise, you forget about the tokens and play with a much weaker Vestal.
