Currently you can do a 14 day trial on almost all aircraft. I started with the FA18C and it was really awesome. Relatively easy to learn. Just need to map out your controls on your hotas right. Currently testing out the Apache and the A10C. Yes it will take a while to learn how you run the radar, comms, weapons and learn the start from the group up to be efficient with each aircraft, but it is a lot of fun.

I just downloaded the Apache 3 days ago. It's so unnatural to fly. I wave spent every extra second over the last 8 months learning the F16. I didn't realize how much muscle memory I had already developed. Now, I'm trying to bind everything as closely as possible.

I read the other day that there’s a special “Ginsu blade” version of the hellfire (AGM-114 R9X) that has no explosive and literally just kills a single individual, by whipping out supersonic metal blades a second before hitting the target Some people say this gives the Pentagon a long sought after “passenger side” capability, to kill someone in the passenger side of a car without killing the driver. I always wondered how that was possible without manually steering the laser. Guess this video answers that question 😂

Any this for what hotes to get, im looking at buying the a10c. I have fc3 with a simple hotas, im looking at buying the x56 but any tips?

I have the x56, it is a great HOTAS with split throttle, and twist stick, although I still use my broken pedals. If anything, the throttle has some great ideas, but not the best execution. The metal switches on the throttle dont stick, they recenter, which limits their use a bit somewhat. And I could also imagine an extra hat switch on the stick. I think its a great starter HOTAS, but please order from Logitech, from what Ive heard Saiteks QC is worse than Logitech. With a bit of luck, if you get a good one you will enjoy it (the HOTAS). Mind that you will need to use a small deadzone, because it doesnt fully recenter. I use a deadzone of 5 in DCS, and it works amazing. Still as I said I would welcome an extra hat switch for the stick. Its enough for the hornet, but I really wish I could bind a few more things to the stick or the throttle so I wont have to use K+M for things like flaps and trimming. My biggest complaint is that while the stick is great for my big hands, the throttles metal switches to its right, are too close to the throttle... at times i feel like I should throttle down or up to access those switches a little bit more easily.
