To reconcile and to love are what meant to be the theme of this movie aka the last arc. It's not about fanservice or shipping, it's about how after all the long struggles, blood and tears, the CG world finally know how to embrace and reconcile with eachother. The war is over, now people need to learn how to accept, to love, and to walk toward a bright future and enjoy it. There's nothing that couldn't be forgiven, people are THAT strong, and even Lelouch deserves another chance to be happy, after his sacrifice. The last lesson is to love. Lelouch started as an angry prince who manipulates people, gradually stepping in the dark, losing everything, and leart to grow from his past failure and choose redemption, for all the blood and sacrifices he'd done, for a better world everybody deserve, and a better world actually pay him back. We can see Euphie and Rolo's hands in the movie in the C world, forgiving Lelouch and helping him escape, because they always love him, we can see the black knights and Cornelia reconcile with Lelouch in their own ways, we can see Suzaku and Nunnally conveying their love and regrets towards Lelouch. Everyone learnt to forgive, to grow up, and to love people. Lelouch also changed his view of life and the world. Now he knows what is really important and there's always a second chance for everything and everyone. If you reach out, people would help you. Lelouch was too self centered and full of pride, that he never tried asking for help. If he ever tried asking that from Cornelia and Euphemia, from his friends and family, maybe everything could be different from the start. Now he matured, and realised that it's good to try being more honest to everyone, and also to his own feelings. His ending up with C.C. it's just a part of his growth. He finally grown enough to learn to love, to enjoy life more without carrying all that heavy burden himself, to be honest with your feelings and accept that yourself deserve happiness. Lelouch isn't just fulfilling his promises to make C.C. smile , he's learnt to forgive and love himself as well, as devoted to someone is his way to feel self value, and being with C.C. brings himself happiness as well. He finally grants himself a happy ending and allowes himself to love.

Lelouch chose death, failed, ended up carrying his name as a demon, hiding from the sociey, but staying with the woman he loves happily forever And Suzaku is still single and overworking.

The terms of the contract they had was for lelouch to grant cc’s wish in exchange for power. at first, we all thought that cc’s wish was to die considering that it almost came to be during the episode where emperor charles was going to take her code and kill her. but moments later, she changed her mind because she was torn knowing that to die was not her true wish. moments later, lelouch saves her from falling into the abyss of c’s world, screaming “I know what your true wish is.” let’s rewind a few episodes back when we found out that cc’s geass was to command people to love her. ever since she was a poor, homeless, and lonely child, she’s only ever wanted for someone to truly love and care for her. also, that one episode where she asks lelouch to call her by her real name with “tenderness, from the heart,” provides more evidence that her true wish is to be loved. now that all that’s out of the way, let’s go back to the present. why else would cc go through all of the trouble to revive lelouch? during the movie, in the truck when they were on the way to the prison, kallen, incredibly shook, asked cc the reason as to why she wants to revive lelouch like it was to desecrate his legacy. well, she did it out of love and the desire to be loved by the one person who truly knew her. she said it was because of their contract. in this video, c2 falls in tears when lelouch renames himself “L2,” and chooses to journey with her, because this essentially meant that lelouch was willing to become another geass master alongside cc. another master who loved her and knowing that they were both immortal, he would stay with her forever. the eternity of suffering she has endured to find fulfillment has finally came to an end. all the emotions created during her experiences with lelouch, the relief, the heartbreak of losing the person she was looking for but ending up finding her way back to him, all these emotions flooded in at that moment. she puts out a genuine smile that she never would’ve thought she would have, and bursts into tears. thus, the contract completed “I promise i’ll give you the smile you’ve never had” -lelouch If you’ve watched the end scene after the credits, l2 and c2 seem to have lived out together as masters, killing incompetent geass users, and granting those who had the resolve the power of geass. A good closure and happy ending

I just rewatched Code Geass again tv show and movies. I love em both and always will.
