Such opulence in a city that once hosted the most deprived areas of Europe filled with misery , despair and disease. It really was the case , and still is , of "The Haves" and "The Have Nots".

I saw 4 of these Wee Beauties this morning about 06:30 on the Clyde Walkway at Cambuslang. I know they are an invasive species, but WOW, they look really Cool, and they were fast, like really fast. Always nice to see something different.

Memories of my childhood in Glasgow where this kind of day was normal. George Swear had a lot more grass back then and less paving. Thanks☔

I can't prove it but I was friends of a friend of Calvin Harris 20 years ago, back when he was basically a typical young lad, into his drink and waccy baccy, never got to know him that well he just was along for the ride with me and my pals, who would of guessed he became famous.

Glasgow City Council only cleans the city centre streets as they neglect the working class citizens of the city. Middle class fuds that they are.

My mother was born in Dumfries, one of 8 children. As a child she would go to her grandmother's on Wallace Street after school. I've done a pretty large genealogy workup on the family. Sadly the depression forced a move to Glasgow. She is 98 today, living in Woodstock, IL USA, a war bride. Last name Steel, ancestors Wallace, McNaught, Wilson. Dumfries is a lot larger than I imagined. Thanks for the tour.

Not as many bloody pigeons in George Square as I remember from many years ago. Has there been an effort to tame the population in recent years?

The last time I visited Dumfries (about 5 years ago admittedly), there was a stramash going on with the local delinquents at the top of the vennel. It's getting more like Glasgow City centre with rubbish around the streets and pavements dug up and backfilled with foreign naterial. There was bin rubbish spilling over down English street, but sanity prevailed when the wife and I had a nice lunch in Barbours? Restaurant. Many years ago I lived in the clean and polished town of Kirkcudbright. Just saying. 😅

Lena Zavaroni left that beautiful calm little Island aged just 9yrs old to come to London with her manager in search of fame back in the 1970s.. She did TV shows, theatre and toured. But later the pressures became to much and made her very unwell. Unfortunately she passed away in her 30s...I have lived in London most of my life and personally, I think its a rat race here, expensive, and survival of the fittest. And high pressured living...

McCaig’s Tower is a prominent landmark in the resort town of Oban in Argyll on Scotland’s west coast. Built in 1897 by local banker John Stuart McCaig, the aim of the tower was to provide work for local stonemasons and a lasting monument to the McCaig family. The climb from the town centre to McCaig's Tower is well worth the effort when faced with the spectacular views across Oban Bay to the Atlantic Islands. The gardens inside the tower are well maintained and are a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of town life in Oban.
