just recorded my fl studio while i improvised some piano, cropped and resized the recording so that the notes stretch vertically across the entire screen, and then used it as a mask for a sunset pic i took on the road once. then just a touch of post-processing stuff like film grain, glow, subtle color curve changes.

oh and obviously i rotated the recording so that the notes were vertical instead of horizontal yeah

basically i just recorded the piano roll, luma keyed out the background so it was just the notes left, added a glow effect, and then fucked around with the color curves in some really intense and sharp ways to "cut off" the glow effect past a point. this is why the notes have little bubbles around them. and then i just composited that on top of a cool picture i took of the moon

:))) thank you so much for this comment!! and yes you're right about the piano good job!!! though its a bit more simple than you might think, i just put on a fruity reeverb 2 and turned the dry all the way down, wet all the way up, decay all the way down, size down a bit. no extra stereo or side stuff going on there. the chords here were really fun to write so i'm glad you were able to enjoy them as much as i did. that im9 -> vm9 relationship at the beginning of the sequence just popped into my head while i was at the coffee shop so i got my laptop out and went to town lol and as much as i'd like to accept praise for the mix being clean, i'm afraid that's just because i used NI Noire for the piano and AD2 for the drums. :) even the other two elements (square pluck and the chord layer later in) are basically completely unmixed. someday i will actually be good at mixing but this time i just got lucky and don't worry, i'm not going to quit uploading. as soon as im feeling better (hopefully tomorrow?) i'll be continuing with the dailies!! even if i don't get results or whatever!! that's not what it's about and it never was. i'm just someone who loves making music and wanted to try holding myself to a more consistent schedule. p.s. i've said this a million times to people already, but if you're impressed with this stuff then you should hear the album i'm making!!! seriously!!! it's gonna be crazy and i've already written a fair few songs for it and i LOVE them all so so much. i swear im not just trying to promote it for clout im genuinely excited to show the world!!! i have so much to say. music or otherwise. you guys will all see STAY TUNED
